You'd be surprised how close the two subjects are.Seeing someone you love on heroin is like watching them die.

Here's a short one for my wife who died four years ago today - THAT TWINKLE IN YOUR EYE SAID "HELLO" AND NOT "GOODBYE" ALTHOUGH YOUR LIFE WAS FADING, I KNEW THAT INSIDE YOU WERE RAGING GOODNIGHT MY LOVE I'LL TRY TO SING YOUR LULLABY.

Dawn's gentle fingers stroke Mother Earth's dew bedecked body whilst a gentle breeze caresses her arboreal tresses. A feathered chorus of Angels softly wakes her from her slumbers and a lemon-sun sea smiles at her rebirth.
Around and within, her children are stirring to life Mother Nature, Her Sister, omnipresent midwife.
Her curves are revealed by a new day's advances which sweep away her star-bedecked shawl Naked, her radiant beauty laid bare for those who can see but raped every day, by you and by me.

A HEARTBEAT I'd be there in a heartbeat, if I only could. I'd be with you forever, you know I really would. I'd make you laugh, I'd make you cry; be gentle, meek and mild but all I have is one heartbeat because I'm an aborted child.

Jesus, that some of the most sensible and emotional words I've ever read on this forum. Thanks for that. Why I thank you Sir Gin - Lady P keeps threatening to set the gardener on me if I don't keep posting poems in lieu of rent! I have more if anyone's interested but I don't want to be a boring bugger.

Of the many gifts with which you've been blessed - writing poetry, I would say, while having no wish to cause offence, is not one of them!! ;D

One of my late father's favorite sayings was the quote from Shakespeake, "To thine own self be true." It was the inspiration for the following poem I wrote about 25 years ago...
A single drop of rainfall sent from heaven miles away, does not know to where it goes or role in life it plays.
It may arrive unnoticed in a mist upon the sea, or be the only source of hope a desert flower sees.
In either case it only is just what it always was, its value changed by only chance no matter what it does.
And so it goes in this old world, life's too short to lament. Stay true to who you really are; you're someone's heaven sent.

wrote this last nite, not finished it'll probably end up 4 - 5 times bigger than this when its finished.
it seems as if a lot of folk are doomed in the community/ The suits in power treating them as if it was a shooting game/ what you gonna do today? be ignorant, act foolishly/ say its for the banter mate, or blame immature ways/ say its how yer raised or explain that its your brain/ views are slightly strained but its never gonna change/
peace

Autograph Hunters (or, ain't life fickle?)
" Is it him?".
" Not Sure".
"Go ask him!
"You go!"
"No, you!"
"Oh, alright!"
"'Scuse me"
"Yes?"
"You Sting?"
"I'm Gordon Sumner"
"Oh; right. Thanks"
"Was it him?"
"Said Gordon Sumner"
"Thought it wasn't!"
"Me too"
"Too old"
"And too fat !"
