I wonder where in the world it is the time it says on the clock when you log into the forum? Mine's right!! You can change the time on your posts by modifying your profile, I suspect the time on the forum will be correct again when the clocks spring forward!!

I've never seen purple potatoes before Addy. Do they taste just the same as regular potatoes? Have read somewhere that carrots were originally purple, I think when they were grown in Holland.

I knew a guy years ago who used to like to make his own bread and stuff and always used food colouring to make his sandwiches bright green or purple.

Yes Penny they taste like usual potatoes but these purple ones are rather nice & mellow, probably because they are organic. I've noticed some other root veg comes in white yellow purple, we had some white & yellow beetroot. the carrots too that you mentioned we have some purple, white, yellow and usual carrot colour..not sure if they were from Holland though

I've been looking for white or yellow beetroot! Did you get in a supermarket or another sort of market? I've tried everywhere I can think of, not seen it anywhere here. Also I do like the thought of Purple Rain and rainbows helping to colour vegetables!

We've indulged in a purple potato before (help!! that sounds wrong on several levels!!) but the colour was nowhere near as vibrant once they were cooked and I can't say I recall them tasting any different. I'm sure, though, that they fall into the category, along with your brightly coloured beetroot, that they are extra good for you, they do say that all brightly coloured fruit and veg is high in antioxidants - whatever they may do but they sound helpful!! Do you suppose I'm negating any good done in the war against cholesterol by eating porridge..................swirled with double cream?? I think I might be!! ;D

Glad to read that you like the forum too, Addy. Sorry, I missed this post before. Keep posting, your posts are always interesting. Thanks Penny....sometimes I want to reply to someones post on here but can't seem to find their post when I get online again I think, while the forum is not that busy, if you just click on the last hundred posts and take it from there, you don't have to go back too far at all to pick up where you left off. I've not been online since last Thursday and had no great length to backtrack - good luck!!
I'm sure the folks on Facefarce are SAHB fans too, they just prefer the more modern medium of the phenomenon from Palo Alto and as so many of them seem never to have found their way here, there seems to be rather a lot of rehashing but hey, they're a younger site than we are, not very busy there either though. I also think that (and Penny will bear this out) that you're a bit better protected on here from some of the backbiting and bullying that goes on on such a bloated behemoth as Facewash. Personal opinion, that's all. I just don't get Facepaint, I think that's recognised!!

It has its positives 'Roso- I've re-connected with childhood friends, high school & college buddies that I never would have found otherwise but is in no way as warm as this forum has been, and is .. I don't spend a lot of time "talking " on FB except when I run into my buddy Ginnie and some others that chat live-which is nice to do..but I think I like playing some FB games more than anything else; now; if we can get Pawn Stars and The Walking Dead...... ;D
