Wasnt me and given my previous posts on the subject of smiting Im really suprised you would even think it was me General deduction BR - there was only you, me and Penny on board at the time and it wasn't me and it wasn't Penny - as I said in my text, it matters not a jot - sorry if my post offended, it wasn''t intended to. Actually, that's not right - to say my karma matters not a jot is to dis respect those who awarded them to me - I've earned every one of those points and more besides. Over the last 3 or so years I've put in some time and effort for SAHB and along the way, I elected to arrange and things & stuff that I thought our good home folks might like - I don't do it for thanks, pay or praise, I enjoy it and if it cheers someone along, or makes them feel special or is a pleasant surpirse, then it has succeeded and that is a good thing. Call it vicarious gravitas or whatever you fancy, it matters not to me, the end result is the important thing. After all, "stripey" Christmas cards, signed by SAHB, don't grow on trees. So, whoever, smite all you like - it's not me you're offending but the good home folks of the forum and that's not very nice. You're the glue that holds us all together Catherine. Speaking of cards - that one still makes me laugh when Maxxxx signed it "Love Maxxxxx - even though you don't like me" ;D Here's a Karma bought with some surplus turnip...

Now there's a rare sight, an embarrassed Catherine!!
My dear BIG Huggy Hogster - the first time we met, as you bagsied your place, front row, dead centre stage, at ABC before last - what a HUG!!!!!! I thank YOU The raffle larks since !! ;D
My sister that I never had, the delectable Lady Penny of Peacock Castle - you are the sweetest sweet pea that ever did bloom (and that Doctor Peacock is pretty good too!! ;D)
Glue?? Glue?? Sir Gin!!! You calling me an old horse? ;D ;D ;D
Get back on duty, you turnip farming Defender of All The Realm, you!!
Thank you so much for the sentiment and the karma but, no - I am but ONE of a cocktail of personalities and characters on here that make it work - maybe I'm the one that phucks it up - I dunno....but this forum relies on as many SAHB fans as possible getting together with likeminded (or weakminded!! hard of thinking, Cavey would say!! ;D ;D)
I just happen to think you guys are such good home folks, SAHB fans, Alpha & Omega, you have earned and deserve whatever bits and bobs I can throw your way. I have made three or four really good friends on here and for their friendship, I will be forever grateful.
Mersey Motormouth Margie was right (I NEVER thought I'd say that!!) - it IS vicarious gravitas - you guys want an answer, I call Chris, Ted, Zal, Hugh or Maxxx and there's your answer - I don't do seances, so I never did manage Alex for you - but Trudy was a pretty close second!!
It really is my pleasure to spring my tricks - the looks on your faces - at the Clutha, at SAHBstock I, at Dexters in Dundee - wherever and all over - it's a joy!! Your texts and pm's when a card or whatever lands - such a treat! That's why a pic of troops at the Clutha is STILL my avatar
We share hatches, matches and dispatches, the births of grandchildren, the marriages of Chad & Angie, BR's daughter, later this year and Penny's elder daughter, Kate, NEXT year, the sad demise of many a "rock god" and, most tragically, family and friends - but that's just it - we SHARE those moments and I feel so priviledged to be part of those experiences.
From Chris' Sis to Lady Mayoress (thanks Jamanah ) to Queen of Vibrania (thanks Hef ) - it has been a gas.
So, I thank and cherish YOU

Yes, rare for me - but I did see you on Skype but you weren't embarrassed. Missus has so many nicknames I forget what his real name is. Let me guess - Graham? I'll have to add peas to the crop next year. Did grow them about fifteen years ago. That sentence makes absolutely no sense to me.... I'm off duty right now thank you very much watching a boooooooring footie game....

I'm off duty right now thank you very much watching a boooooooring footie game.... On Skype, I didn't realise, until too late, that you could see right down my winter vest - I was intent on ensuring you heard me asking you to speak up, so's Pete could hear YOU - the dressing room was so lively!! Missus Foster, BIG Hoggy is JIM HOGG Peas would be a WONDERFUL crop - you immediately have TWO more acres upon which you cultivate them - although maybe we should make soup rather than wine from the crop....Pea Wine.....it don't sound too good..... Glue used to be - and possibly still is - made from melting down old horses from the knackers' yard....... Please enjoy your off duty time - I'm almost sure you could enjoy it MORE by not watching a boring football game...... Luv Ya Ginster

I'll grow yellow peas - makes the most fantastic pea soup especially if cooked with a ham bone and onions . A Newfie delicacy almost.

I can....... mainly because the footie is about to kick off.........on the pea soup front, Ginnie, I have a ham hock in the freezer and dried yellow peas in the cupboard......I may try that!! Oh, do! Just add onions, salt and pepper... Some folks add cubed potatoes and turnip too, but its not necessary. Newfoundland Pea Soup
1 gallon of water 1 1/2 lbs. of split peas 1 piece of salt beef (or you can use a Ham Bone that contains some meat on it) 1 lb. of diced onions 1 lb. of diced turnip 1 lb. of diced carrot 1/2 lb. diced celery 1/2 lb. diced parsnip 1 lb. diced potato
NOTE: Split peas and salt beef are to be soaked in cold water overnight. (If using Ham Bone just soak the split peas) Place the salt beef in a pot, cover in hot water and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Check water, if too salty, pour some out and add fresh water. Remove salt beef and add split peas to the water, add more if water needed. Cut beef in bite sized pieces and return to pot. If using ham bone just put ham bone, split peas and water in a pot.
Simmer till peas are well done. (Approx. 1 hour.) Stir the soup frequently. Add the vegetables and cook until tender. Season to taste.
