Hey, how come no video this year? Long story Ginnie, basicaly, the guy who was filming it ( for free ) didn't have a high enough tripod, so what he got was a distance shot of the stage/bands over the top of peoples heads. The stuff of Chad the Lad and his mate is good, the stuff of Li'l Charlie is not too bad, but there's none of electric warrior, as the singer Chic , who isn't the tallest giant in the land, stepped of stage for most of their slot and couldn't be seen, so it was deleted. I have a copy, but it aint really worth sending out to folks as it is also a bit on the dark side (not very bright )

SAHBROCK 30? (For Alex's memorial year) Just a thought. Does it matter all that much anyway really, it will just be a gas to be there!! Especially if its as good as last time. ;D

Well my thoughts on it were that, Sahbstock is now synonomous with raising money for sick kids charities, whereas Sahbrock was solely for raising funds for the Alex Memorial, but i'll go with the majority, it is after all a democratic board we have ;D

Are there any more funds needed for the memorial side of things?

Yea, the more money the better, we're trying to raise enough cash for a bust of Alex, maybe sited in the Peoples Palace.

Cant do that at the charity gig Penny, any bucket rattling will be for the Yorkhill Sick Kids Foundation. I have already been in contact with them, they sent an events pack with all sorts of rules and regulations, not their fault, just how these events have to be organised im afraid.

Your not collecting for the memorial fund. Fair enough then. Can I rattle a bucket for the Kids Foundation then? I like rattling a bucket!! ;D

I'm confused! Late too, with this, SAHBROCK.
I didn't think the name change was to enable collection for a cause besides childrens' charities; I thought it was to reinforce the return to the event's roots and starting afresh from there, with a new name; back to more of a family party feel rather than that of a gig.
Looks like Yorkhill then, although, there are loads of charity fund raisers for all sorts of charities and only us and the Yahoo group rebuilding the Alex Memorial fund - it'll be me, like I say, I'm confused - what a difference a day makes!! (ie I'm old now!!)
As I said to someone only yesterday, see what thought did? Followed a much cart and thought it was a wedding.

If Yorkhill has already been decided then Yorkhill it is.
But I am disappointed, on reflection, that this has already been decided. Personally, I would rather the money went to the memorial fund. BUT that is just MY opinion. (ooer, I'm learning to be assertive, the therapy must be working!)
So......it looks like Sahbstock 4 then.
I fully admit that I wasn't thinking properly when I was posting back and fore with Hoggy last night, this is called over excitement.
I agree with Catherine, I too thought that the point of SAHBrock was to take it back to its roots and that, not about only collecting for the memorial fund.

Sahbstock 1, was arranged because S.A.H.B. weren't playing a xmas gig that year, so a couple of us decided that the best way for us all to get together again at xmas time was to have a wee gig, the Admiral Bar suited our requirements, It was decided to give any money raised to a kids charity, 2 and 3 were the same only held in a bigger venue because of the success of Sahbstock 1. Sahbstock 2 was a great success too but Sahbstock 3 the numbers twindled seriously, and the rest is history. There was going to be a Sahbstock 4 with a committee to run and plan it, but due to all the committee members having personal problems, it wasn't goin g to happen, so i did what i could, called it Sahbrock and decided to give the money to the Alex Memorial Fund. Thought this year we would get back to the roots and meet with the troops, and make money for the kiddies charities again, as you saw, when it was for the Alex Memorial, numbers weren't too high, so doing it for the kids, might , just might help raise the numbers, if not, then it might be time to call it a day, because i really really struggled to sell tickets for Sahbrock. You decide and let me know wether to carry on or just let it die on it's proverbial.
