Tonight's the night to be merry on ra Ferry!!
Hope it's a good turn out, for Chris' sake, although one of the best gigs we ever saw SAHB at had no more than a few country yokels in attendance.
Along with us & Colin's sister, husband and forumster Roger - maybe 50 people tops - and 45 of them were there to see the other band (who delayed the whole proceedings by being involved in a road traffic accident, no-one injured), we only stayed backstage long enough to see Zal start to apply his make up - HURRAH!!! - it was making a comeback!!
From a low stage at one end of a wee Shropshire village hall, out blasted the opening of The Faith Healer................SAHB were blisteringly SENSATIONAL that night.
So here's to Big Bad Benson and his band of minstrels - I'm sure it'll be a goodie!!

He jumped ship for these pics!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I give in, this thing is on super go slow and not having slept on Monday night due to the howling wind (the weather, not me!!) I really need an early night.
I have some pics to post tomorrow now, it was a fun evening, Cafe Jacques opened -- I'd never listened to them before, turns out, I quite liked their stuff.
The Nanobots, never really watched them before either - I love Jim Brady and their set was a grand wee journey into another world - more good fun.
The Outfit, with the odds stacked against them, good and proper, with all things considered, they did ok. Chris was nervous and rattled by circumstances but they played all the old favourites and threw in Doctor Doctor - so we were singing along as usual.
Yes, of course Max was missed, our Master of Mayhem worked hard, in the face of considerable critisism and resistance, to win the support of the SAHB fans and he did it - he won their hearts too.
But I love Gordon Bell too, NOT Alex of THE NOTS, he's talented, zany, clever and funny. To step in at the last minute was a huge step for anyone to take and had Gordon not been able to perform, the gig would not have come to pass.
Some may say that might have been for the best, well, maybe it would but tickets had been sold, miles had been travelled, hotels had been booked, so, the show went on.
A bit ragged around the edges in places but then I've seen the well rehearsed been together for decades SAHB pull some really dodgy gigs out of the hat.
Stuart on keyboards is greatly accomplished and Julian is a beautiful guitarist, Hoo Ha Halley, we all know and love, Wes brings a wee bit of magic to NEXT and Gamblin Bar Room Blues, Chris is Chris and I think Gordon did a fabulous job and is to be greatly applauded for his endeavours, he entertained us well.
Just maybe, though, Chris should think about hanging up his Outfit, the logostics are almost insurmountable and it will never be SAHB, although it helps keep their music alive. Perhaps we should learn to live with memories now. Just perhaps.

OK, finally got the tag working, arg... www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbQAnnE5BAsHmmm... I wouldn't want Chris to hang up his outfit, I actually think it has a good future with Pete Higgins on vocals. He's a great singer. He just needs to learn a few more SAHB numbers to pull out the hat. And then for do's like this that are pure SAHB there's truly only one Max to mix it up a bit with Pete.

Sorry TK - wrong son!!
I meant to mention Peter on vocals too - I love his voice and he is a darling fellow, I thought he did rather well too.
One other thing that I should have mentioned, one of the points of The Outfit is, that just like any outfit, the parts are interchangeable and will vary. It's not supposed to be solely a SAHB based or SAHB tribute band.
The set lists, based on this concept, could contain numbers from any band that any of The Outfit had performed with and, by the same theory, the set would be ever changing and contain more varied numbers than almost all SAHB.
Then it's down to the fans - seems only SAHB is wanted, which would be why Max was missed - but it's not SAHB it's The Outfit.

I WILL post these pics if it's the last feckin' thing I ever do..........so long, it's been good to know ya!! ;D
We're ON!!
The Chris Glen look of severe admiration for Stuart's intro......Julian, being silly (I now know!! ) decided it was somewhat protracted and elected to lie down on the stage - I saw him do so but did not catch why - I was ready to dial 999!!!
Scary war paint man
The sensationally talented multi instumentalist that is Stuart Clyde.........who emailed Chris a couple of weeks ago...."Houston, we have a problem....." he was booked to organise and perform the music at his boss' wedding - which was on the 2nd January!!!! Luckily, his lovely wife, Alison pays a bit more attention to things like dates......the wedding was the day after - the email said "stand down, panic over" - I'll feckin' say!!!
