Pics from our trip! MG is NOT in Disneyland! Panoramic shot from Signal Hill in St. John's MG wanted to bring home this old British cannon used to fight the French in the 1760's. I had to convince him that it wouldn't fit in my flight baggage Ontop Signal Hill - we where in the clouds! Another Panoramic shot from Signal Hill - on the left is Cabot Tower. BTW Marconi sent the first wireless message across the Atlantic from Signal Hill in 1901. Wife to MG "If you don't behave I'm throwing you over the railing!" Shot from Mountain overlooking Topsail. Another one from atop and another... Me in front of "Topsail Falls" on my brother's property. closer to the falls... View from the deck of my brother's house. BTW this is the house I grew up in.

The Realm of All Vibrania is DELIGHTED that the furthest flung Colony of Topsail is SO very beautiful - we knew it would be. You must behave MG and let Sir Gin Ginnie McGinster relax and have the most wonderful time.

This a sombre yet interesting post. These are pics from the local Catholic graveyard. There used to be a church here but its been torn down. I have many relatives here, including cousins, uncles, aunts, grandfather and greatgrandfather and greatgrandmother. What I thought interesting was that a lot of the graves had little Union Jacks flying beside them, on a little white cross with a poppy in the centre. I realized that these are on graves of the war veterans. This little wooden cross is incribed "Baby Parsons" and has a few toys on it: "In Memory of Edward Carroll, A native of Callan, Kilkenny, Ireland, Oct. 20, 1871, Aged 90 years" There were many graves of Irishman in this cemetary. This area was settled mostly by Irish Catholics in the 1800's. Surnames such as O'Brien and Kelly are common here even today.

This one's for you Tk - my cousin's "dugs". They are a husky-shepherd mix, and four months old. Both girls. Sisters, too.

Any idea why the church was knocked down, Ginnie? The cemetery looks like it has just sprung up out of nowhere without a church beside it. Are you home from your trip now?

It is odd, not to have the church there anymore but what a beautiful slightly wild cemetary; they are the most atmospheric of places and there's always at least one inscription that leaves you moved or gives food for thought. Lovely post, thanks, Ginnie karma

Lovely post, thanks, Ginnie karma The church was torn down because another, bigger one was built down the road.

Great photos again, Ginnie. Your brother's land looks beautiful with the waterfalls in it. It must be a land that's a fair old size. More photos when you can please! It's great to see other peoples holidays.

No wonder you were so excited about going back to Topsail Colony the Furthest Flung in the Realm of All Vibrania; it's beautiful and there's the added joy of spending time with the family too, perfect, Sir Gin, just perfect.
I reckon Topsail Halley's Falls has got Niagra knocked into a cocked hat!! There's just something magical about waterfalls.
Sign for A. Harvey.......but no sign of Minnie Ginnie!!! Is he back on the naughty step? Or did you leave him on Gibbet's Hill to teach him a lesson?

I'm back! More pics and stuff to come... meanwhile... Minnie Ginnie "escaped" when we were passing by George St. in St. John's... George street is renowned - a small one way streets filled with bars and pubs on both sides and even on the second and third stories. I'm very frustrated and hoping that someone will be mailing him back to me. That little scamp!

Pleased that your wife and yourself are back home safe and sound. Naughty MG, goodness knows what sort of a mess he's in by now, he will have lots to tell us all when he gets back anyway.

Welcome home Sir Gin, glad you're both back, safe and sound, more pics would be fantastic, thanks
As for Minnie Ginnie, well, there's just no knowing what he'll be up to now - I'm very much afraid he'll be the worse for drink, at the very least!!
I do hope that he posts on here that he's ok and coming home soon, he is SO naughty!!

Hmmm... I was sent this pic today by the RCMP in Newfoundland. They asked me if he did or not live at my address. After taking about five minutes to decide, I told the officer that yes, indeed, he lived here. They will be sending him out by post tomorrow. I could have used UPS and he'd be here sooner, but I was in no rush! There will be a loooooooooooong conversation when he arrives...
