Can we not mention Stray or come to think of it Leslie West. I met them both after gigs where I had drunk too much and did one of my introductions to my children which I cringe about even now and am often reminded of.

Wow. First new album I've bought in 25 years! Jimi Hendrix: People, Hell and Angels. Album title doesn't sound like a Hendrix album. The cover doesn't either... BUT what's on the vinyl definitely does. This is the period of Hendrix I like best when he got bluesier. Good mix of people playing - Mitch Mitchell plays on some cuts, Buddy Miles on the other. Billy Cox plays bass on most of the tunes. I like the way Billy plays bass. I can just imagine him telling Jimi, "I'll play bass with you but I want to be heard!" Jimi plays bass on "Inside Out". Hank Anderson on "Let Me Move You". "Unknown" plays bass on "Hey Gypsy Boy". Good Lonnie Youngblood vocal on "Let Me Move You". That tune sounds like a jam that went perfect. "Mojo Man" sounds unlike any Hendrix tune I've ever heard. Albert Allen on vocals. The song is a cross between James Brown, with big horns and Sly and the Family Stone. Superb. Good, heavy vinyl. 180 gram I guess. Good quality packaging with nice full size multipage insert. Double album but I'm guessing there's only about 15 min. or so a side. Why would this be? Maybe they couldn't fit it on one LP. Plus the extra room for the grooves would give you better quality? Some of these tunes I've heard before but Jimi never played the same song twice the same way. A good example here is "Izabella" which sounds a lot different than on the "First Rays of the Rising Son" album. I'll have to listen to both versions to refresh my memory. At first I complained to myself and others around me about spending $28 on ONE album, but after getting this I'm perfectly happy. Worth every penny. I feel like I'm 16 again getting a new album home, putting it on the turntable and reading all the liner notes! Now I have to save up for S.F. Sorrow and Revolver...
