I was jotting down some random lines/couplets and bugger me they make a free-flowin poem - what do you guys think ?
Angel's wings, violins A baby's eyes, lullabyes Morning sun, day's just begun The countless years melt into a moment Silent as a Winter's morn When distant hills with snow adorn'd A lemon sun The soundless fury of a troubled mind melts into a vista so sublime Victory for solitude O'er man's ever-changing mood

Just a quickie
Poor Boy
Poor boy standing in the gutter selling the issue with a stutter Please don't laugh and pass him by One day you could be this guy
For the benefit of our overseas members I should explain that 'the issue' refers to The Big Issue which is sold on the streets of the UK by homeless people to enable them to pay for food and accommodation and to help rebuild their self-respect.

Here's a rap for you (in sonnet formation no less!!)
There's Tarquin rappin' and they're all hand clappin' and the dons are back slappin' at the graduates' ball There's Sophie gyratin' and they're all fixatin on the money they'll be makin at the graduates' ball No credit crunch for none of this bunch as they drink rum punch at the graduates' ball Their mommas and pappas got homes in the Bahamas as they all go bananas at the graduates' ball
There's Jason and Lolita they could dress a little neater even eat the odd fajita if they had money at all There's Tony and Claire in total despair: It'd be a lot fairer if they had money at all The jobs are all gone and it's "Fight for Number One" it'd be another song if they had money at all No homes in the Aegean let alone the Caribbean but they'd all be out to see 'em if they had money at all
So you see the people grievin' cos they all gave up believin' In the doorways they are sleepin with no money at all It's the same around the world for poor boys and poor girls;their lives stay uncurled with no money at all Now you hear them all professin' they've no houses or possessions they're all stuck in a recession with no money at all And the rich are out there drinkin,' partyin' and bingin',laughin'and a singin' they've got money you know So the moral of this story is there ain't no glory livin' on the upper storey laughin'at the folks below while there's peopleout there dyin', beggin' and a cryin; eking out a livin in the rain and snow .

OK By Royal Decree........................................
This is one that I wrote a while ago for the MIND (mental health charity) magazine.
They Don't Mind
Do you ever get the feeling that there's something in your head? Intangible, unfath'mable, something not quite dead It lurks around the corner, always out of sight Feeding on your fears in the dead of night Did you ever try to grasp it and make it say its name only to find it's vanished and hiding once again? It dwells among the shadows, brings your darkest thoughts; laughs at your discomfiture, carries dread and cruel remorse
Did you ever see a doctor, to tell him of your fears? And see that look upon his face;a mix of smiles and sneers? Did he give you lots of tablets and send you to a shrink? and leave you with "It'll be alright and by the way, don't drink"?
So did you see that specialist, book learning in their head? On fifty grand a year my friend and never known your dread And did they try co comfort you and make it all make sense? And when they failed shake their head and plead in their defence?

AS THE ICE RAFT ENTERED WARMER WATERS
I BEGAN TO LOSE MY FRIENDS
Deep sh*t,or what ?
An excerpt from our entrance music (about '89 ) which was accompanied by screams and bubbling water, and a single spotlight scanning the crowd (yes, both of them)
Did we invent goth then and just didn't realise ?

Rolling and tumbling; all falling down The war is over;send the clowns Festering flesh on barbed-wire fences Are we the prisoners, or are they our defences?

Sometimes at night I check the closets when I go to bed. Sometimes I wonder If the demons are just in my head? Alone in darkness I hear Footsteps walk across the floor, And I awake to find there's No one knocking at my door. My mother told me that It runs within the family; To hear and see things That to you are not reality. What were the seeds ancestors planted Which from now I reap? Some times I pray dear Lord For just one decent night of sleep. I have no fear of the unknown, And death does not concern me. But I am scared of what I know, For I what I know is my reality. Another night I lay in silence Waiting patiently, And wonder when tonight The voices will come calling me. I press my palms together And fall down upon my knees, Please dear God make it stop, Clairvoyant insanity. www.angelfire.com/planet/aplus/Clairvoyant_Insanity.mp3I don't know why, but the URL above does work if copied/pasted into a new browser window - but for some reason does not work if you just click on it. Anyway that URL will take you to this poem set to music. Yours truly on vocals, bass and rhythm guitar. My friend Steve on lead guitar, and drums by a programmable drum machine. Recorded about 20 years ago...

I wish I could sing, play bass and rhythym guitar at the same time... ;D
Although I once sang, played guitar, harmonica, smoked and drank at the same time.
