ok folks there will be a special night for all S.A.H.B. fans happening in Glasgow sometime in october 2011. i would like to point out it is a project that will be run by a commitee of - jack (chris glen of SAHTB) Caveman (a shy retiring type) BIG Hoggy (he's a leg end) Chad the lad (rapper extrodinair) T.K (me ;D) this project is not linked to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band in any way, other than the fact it will be run by and attended by their fan's. all idea's from anyone will be considered, at an early stage we will be looking roughly at 2 or 3 short sets and hopefully a set from a sahb fan band, plenty time to chill and have a blether...............and hopefully a raffle ;D c'mon now troops it time to rally together. all procceeds will go to THE ALEX HARVEY MEMORIAL FUND. Sorry to be the one to bring this up but it is over 5 months ago since this announcement and how far have we got? The more worrying fact is that we only have 5 months left until October!!! Now I know a lot of you are busy but in 5 months there isn't even a name for the blooming thing. Is this going to happen? I seriously doubt it. The thing is coming all this way we need dates etc to book flights and hotel rooms, the later we leave it the more expensive they get. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not here to put blame or cause trouble, Jeez you all know I want this to happen as much as the next guy, I am just very concerned that the lack of progress means the lack of event. Consider this a friendly kick up the backside which you can return in October in person if the event goes ahead (just not too hard, I am a southern softy after all ) Your welcome to kick me up the bum in October too, cos I would love to see this event happen, but agree its not looking good. I know some committee members have a lot on their plates at the moment and life has a way of getting in the way of the best laid plans etc though. But.....is anything happening???

The Clutha Vaults 0141 552 7520 Not ideal due to the horseshoe shape of the bar and the teeny tiny "stage" area, which has no great space in front of it for the audience. I would have grave doubts the the Adie brothers would close the public aspect of their pub.
Oran Mor 0141 357 6200 I suspect, just a bit too big
Maggie Mays 0141 548 1350 Sorry can't help, don't know it at all
The Admiral Bar 0141 221 7705 Is about the right size but they have the 11pm kick out.....
The Scotia Bar 0141 552 8681 Even smaller and just as horseshoe shaped as The Clutha, really completely unsuitable for a band - they get to play in a dark corner and really can't be seen. Likewise, an "open" pub.
Solid Rock 0141 221 1105 (have put on events at weekends and it will be for a good cause) From what has been said, sounds ideal but I don't know it at all.
Ivory Blacks 0141 248 4114 (why fix it if it isn't broken) Is far too big, I got the impression that we were aiming for maybe about 100 good home folks
The Renfrew Ferry is a nice venue but I think is way too big as well
Maybe the committee should second another member, who has some time to give, to help out where Hoggy, for one, just plain can't - and should not be expected to, either.
Or maybe it should be left lie, it doesn't look like it's going to fly this time. The Nots will put on a great show in August at The Garage and I'm sure would be only too delighted to have more good home folks there - perhaps a raffle or bucket collection could be arranged, then you raise some cash for The Memorial Fund AND get to see SUCH a performance - The Nots need your support too - they are our nearest tribute band until Richy tires of waltzing with Matilda...........
Yes, it's a pity if this wee return to roots SAHBfest doesn't come to pass - but there are greater losses at sea - as they say.
I applaud the endeavours of the committee thus far and fully appreciate that real life MUST take precedence.
NB I'm not being negative, mayhap more realistic

I had to try Atta boy Platter!
I was wondering if:
a) The Admiral would try for an extension if we were to pay for it?
or
b) Ivory Black could put more tables out to effectively 'shrink' the venue?
Just trying to be positive.

And Ive suggested is there any chance of something starting lunchtime/afternoonish if we have to finish at 11??
Perhaps I'm just clutching at straws though.

All your ideas and thoughts are appreciated folks, I will try to get onto the solid rock venue this week sometime, and once we have a venue, we seriously need to find a band/bands to play on the night.
