I was waiting for somebody else to comment before I did, so thanks Helen I'm not sure if I should be taking this seriously or if maybe it is pathos/satire/humour/sarcasm/ or some in-joke that has gone over my head (most things do... ) I mean... it took me a while to work out that nutsE was what the profanity checker does to S-H-I-T-E But, I have noticed the time. The forum clock is one hour out so this was typed at ten to one in the morning - presumably just after Newcastle Academy gig.... Well, just after the gig may be a good time for vigorous and spontaneous comments... ...but maybe not the best for writing a considered and critical review? Perhaps craigosm will revise his comments after he's slept on it? Vib

Wow ! - “harsh” is being kind to the author of this thread. Such a scathing post is unbecoming, especially from a fan. A few polite and concise words of subjective criticism would have sufficed here. Not sure if this person has an underlying agenda or simply had a bad day. I’ll assume the latter.
I think the band should be commended for experimenting in an attempt to make the old tunes better and/or fresher. Then having the courage to step outside the box and present their efforts at a warm up gig to gauge fan response. After all, the new rendition of Vambo was well received when Zalvation hit the streets and perhaps served as inspiration in the bands resurgence with Max. The opening guitar licks and sheer power of the new version have impressed many while maybe adding another 30 years to the song.
Obviously, the easiest thing for the band to do - is to avoid change and thus do nothing to the music. But, growth entails change just as in any business. Otherwise, you’re left by the wayside sooner than later.
No doubt the band are working hard to bring something new to the table while keeping themselves energized and motivated. And for that, I’m sure the true and loyal ones are thankful.
Tk

yo graigosm, quote "anyone want all their stuff", i take it that includes the zalvation cd/dvd with the newer rendition of the tomahawk kid !!!...very harsh words...the band are trying to move on, with new material begining to surface and a few of the older favourites being revampted, and as for "pop stars", i dont know of any band that is as approachable as the guys in sahb !!! and finally good money.... £15 a ticket for a 90 minute gig..sounds like value for money too me !!!roll on the abc show

I've been pushing for "lurkers" to post more and put their opinions and ideas forward, but sometimes people should S__t T_e F--k Up!!
I've also been against the "don't criticise & toe the party line" attitude & i've been very open when I didn't think something was right, but i've always done it with respect.
Craigosm as far as I can see is showing no respect. I don't always like the new arrangements either, (the Kid prefers the original version of the Tomahawk Kid) but there's always a lot more to enjoy than to criticise, ain't that right TK?
Craigosm carry on lurking but we don't need posts like yours.
What was it you said?? "f**k them...never again!
NAW f**k you....never again.....hopefully!!!

I do hope this is a joke/drunken rant, because, and I quote:
'we paid good money and the interest in them got them onto the main stage ... I created about 40 people there tonight ... !! '
sounds like a spoiled 6 year old throwing his toys out of the pram because he didnt get what he wanted for xmas.

' sounds like a spoiled 6 year old throwing his toys out of the pram because he didnt get what he wanted for xmas. Indeed. That is why I was a bit guarded in my original post. Something doesn't quite add up. This guys other few posts don't seem to be out of the ordinary or show any evidence of trolling behaviour or an 'unusual sense of humour'. If he was a fan in 1974 then he ain't no youngster - he's probably old enough to tell his grandkids not to swear so much! So what was he upset about? Would any reasonable person flip from rating a band as one they've 'LOVED' to describing them as "s-h-i-t-e" because they played one song differently to 30 years ago? Or only did one encore? (Most bands these days only do one encore - mainly to do with complying with licencing regulations, i.e: stopping at the agreed time. ) So, my best guess was that, being one o'clock in the morning just having staggered back from the venue, it was maybe a couple of pints too many...? Hence I was wondering if we might get a slightly more even tempered post after he'd slept it off? Well, he's had plenty of time, so it doesn't look likely - but perhaps we should just let it pass as an unexplained rant... This is a nice friendly forum, I'd hate to see us kick off 'the spiraling flame war from hell'! Most of us will be seeing SAHB again sometime very soon if we haven't already (Thursday for me!) - so let's have a few sober reviews (Hint - get someone to hide the mouse until the next day ) Vib

I take it that craigosm went to the gig wearing his flares and platform shoes, had a feather cut hairdo, and wearing an Arthur Black shirt The band have moved into the 21st century kicking and screaming, it's time he did too, And maybe they only did one encore because, if the 40 people he brought with him, had the same opinion as him, no doubt they let it be known, well would you break sweat for dicks like that???

We've been away since Friday celebrating my better half's birthday - yes it was great, thanks ;D However, we chanced upon the forum and re the above quote - everyone is entitled to an opinion, it just so happens that this poor chap doesn't seem to share the opinion of the rest of the happy Sahbsters on this 'ere forum - perhaps Terry Wogan's Old Geysers has a Mr Angry section - I'll check. Thanks to all you others who were stung and or spurred onto retort - hey! that could be a new bit for St Anthony.....no, that's jst me then, I'll away and do my laundry! Thanks all

I have LOVED this band since 1974 ... tonight they f**ked it up ... Why try and change the Tomahawk kid WHY ?? we paid good money and the interest in them got them onto the main stage ... I created about 40 people there tonight ... !! what a let down and NEVER again ... 1 encore !!! who the f**k do they think they are .. the crowed Booed them ... says it all .. f**kin pop stars f**k THEM .... never again anyone want all their stuff ?? I saw them in Liverpool last night - perhaps a different band, I was at The Sensational Alex Harvey Band gig - with several guests, I'll have even more guests at Bilston - sorry couldn't be assed to count them - haven't seen a pop star yet though - was i at the right gig? I think so. Ebay is the 21st century medium for selling on unwanted bits and bobs - the least you could do is give the funds received to charity - perhaps a charity for people who have only got 40 friends or something. Oh! Lest it be misunderstood we pay for tickest for ourselves and our guests, with nary a second thought. Cheer up chap, if the wind changes, your face'll stay like that - that's better ;Dand the world laughs with you :'(and you're on your own. Perhaps some camomile tea would be helpful, I do hope so Vambo Still Rools and Alex would be proud of his Sensational band of rocking entertainers

Happy Birthday to Catherine's 'other half' ;D BTW - you never did tell us who it was he was the drummed for? Now - an apology in advance. I'm getting myself all excited and coming over all unnecesary about Bilston on thursday Thing is, I usually drive myself to SAHB gigs (alone - sob ) - but Thursday my mate has offered to do the chaufering bit So - it's just me, a bar full of booze and no safety net.... So apologies for any drunken rants I post at 1am on Friday Curiously - one of the last faculties I lose after over imbibing is the ability to type. Long after my speech is intelligably slured and I lose the ability to walk, I can still log into chat rooms and forums and spout total BOLLOCKS. Mind you - I don't usually get nasty or use foul profanities, I just type pages and pages of totally off topic garbage that no body is interested in... Not much change there, then. Vib
