Aye no doubt about the ABC show, from the moment I dandered down Sauchiehall street at lunchtime past the venue, and seen the Sold Out sign above the door I knew it would be a good night, just didn't expect it to be THAT GOOD!
Made all the better for the stroke of good fortune of bumping into Jerry & Suze at the end of the gig, thanks a lot for the invite to the Cluthra Vaults, amazing to see the mighty SAHB crammed into the tiny stage and blasting out a few numbers right in front of your eyes, borrowing the gear from the band playing there earlier, pure magic, the icing on the cake!
Jim thanks for the disc pal, it was all happening, didn't get much of a yarn, but great to see you again. Hello Colin & Francis, missed you after the Griffon at the beginning. Catherine thanks for hospitality, see you in Belfast in March hopefully.
I could have suffered another 45 minutes of that ABC show, I just wished it had been filmed like last time, another great missed opportunity. Regarding the new song Hail Vibrania, I would like to hear that again as a studio recording, it's always hard to give an honest opinion on something you have only heard for the first time, especially when live.
Great to see some drunken fans really appreciate the older stuff, the guy next to me was right into it, but was late to the show, was shouting for "No Lights" the whole time he was there, and I would loved to have seen his reaction had the band played it. The Tear Gas fan, did you get your seat? I don't think so! Nice to hear a fan who actually wasn't clued up on recent SAHB times, but was a fan of the band before Alex joined them.
It was all over in a flash for me, I was enjoying it so much, till the next time, Hail Vibrania! Roll on Belfast

Please behave, frankly I'm shocked Helen I thought you seemed such a nice girl ;D. I kept my position (nothing sexual) at the front of the stage through (spelled correctly Mrs. Foster) out the whole show. We're just good friends

This was the first gig I'd seen since early 2004 when Billy Rankin was on vox. It was absolutely brilliant, no question. Zal was on top form, and I was really impressed by Max, great frontman. Here's to many more gigs and yep, it was great to see the words 'Sold Out' above the venue too!

This was my first SAHB gig and what a gig! As veteran of hundreds of gigs over the last 20 years I have to say this is in contention for the top slot. The band were incredible, the sound was awesome and the patter was hilarious, I can’t wait till next time. My 64 year old father had a very smug, superior, [glow=red,2,300]“I told you so”[/glow] look on his face as we left the gig.

Well what can i say that hasn't been said already. Nearly a week after the gig and i'm still on a high after seeing the band again back to their best after many years. The set list was great if not what was expected and Anthem, well i was like many others who must have been suffering the effects of Tear Gas when this song was played as i was greetin like a big lassie too. Still get a lump in my throat just thinking about it. Great to see the band keeping these songs live the way we all want to hear them.Roll on next year. Tommorrow belongs to SAHB.
