Headed down to Newcastle from Fife last night for the MSG gig. It was the first time I'd seen the band and there was an added attraction with the wonderful Chris Slade on drums (BIG fan of this guy's work, particularly Manfred Mann's Earth Band and The Firm, plus that lot from Aus), and the bassist wasn't too bad either ;D Chris seemed to be having a bit of bother with his amp at the start of the gig, but was clearly enjoying himself throughout. The band was really superb, very tight, great clear sound. A rythmn section to die for! Managed to get back home for 0230 through some slush at Berwick, but as I understand it, the A1 is now closed with snow at Dunbar, and about four inches has fallen here in the space of a few hours. Brilliant gig! Merry Christmas to you all!

I thought of that after the event! Didn't see any SAHB t-shirts though! I've got to say, I wasn't impressed by that support band.
