I was trying to record a little Beatles ditty tonight - A DAY IN THE LIFE. Gave up for now. Do you have any idea how hard it is to play the guitars (electric and acoustic) the keyboards, drums and vocals to this without making a feckin' mistake? ! As her Majesty would say, ARFF! Did 8 guitar takes, 10 keyboard takes before I gave up and will tackle some other day... Gosh, I thought the whole thing would only take about an hour...

You're telling me! Tonight, I went back to little tune, "A Day In the Life" by a little band, The Beatles. I don't know why I tackled this - it just kept nagging me until I finally did it. I should have figured the bass line out better, but I was a little bit lazy by that time. soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/a-day-in-the-lifeI'm generally pleased with it, except for the vocals which I struggle with more than anything else.

The vocals will get better with time, Gin, just another muscle that needs to be excercised

"No One Left to Pray" I did the original (vocals, guitar, harmonica) back in the early eighties. Added bass and percussion to it. Hearing my harmonica playing today, its hard to believe I had lungs that could do that! soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/no-one-left-to-pray

I never thought I'd attempt this song - a Neil Young classic, "Everybody Knows this is Nowhere". I don't know, the beginning lead seemed more difficult than it actually is - not the notes really, but the way Neil plays them. Anyhoo, I think the results are good, even my vocals don't suck on this one! soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/everybody-knows-this-is-nowhere

"Man of Truth" Originally recorded around 1987. Written and performed by my cousin and I for his high school project. I added bass, drums and keyboards today: soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/man-of-truth

Geez, I find it almost sacriligeous trying to do a SAHB tune - but I've always loved Zal's staccato type lead on this song and had to try it. Anyway, here's my rendition of SAHB's "Weights Made of Lead" soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/weights-made-of-lead

"The Faith Healer" Y'know, I've been trying to stick to the original arrangements with the cover tunes, but this time I went with a "try something different" approach, and the results came out pretty good. soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/thefaithhealer

I'm altering my approach somewhat to covering other people's tunes - I mean, why try to do them like the original anyway? "Faith Healer" turned out so good that I've actually listened to it three times in a row at full volume (no, there's no one else in the house!). I have an urging to tackle "Anthem" or "Last of the Teenage Idols" or "Tomahawk Kid" but maybe I should go on to something else!

Another cover tune - I know you won't believe I attempted it but I did! "20th Century Boy" by T.Rex ... sheesh, singing the background vocals an octave higher was a joy! soundcloud.com/ginnie-1/20th-century-boy
