I know all i had to eat was a main course curry and one pint of lager, same as T.K. and Chad, although Chad might have hade 2 pints ( the cheek o' the boay ) and we paid up what was ask for when it came to divying up the bill, and it was a fair price, so fingers cannae be pointed at us, look further afield folks. Dunno what the meal comment is about either, its all news to me

How could BR have known how high Brian would bid? Sounds like mates rates and not entirely kosher to me - and the charity was last on the list of priorities. Hi BR! Thanks for popping in to clear that up, very good of you. Since you have deleted your account, I cannot respond via pm, however, I think you know me well enough to realise that respond, I will.
The first thing wrong with this is I didnt know how high Brian would bid only that it was whatever it would take.
This makes sense now, if Brian had offered to top any offer, thank you for that clarification. It is noted that the winning bid has not been confirmed, it matters not to me, I am sure that Brian loves his frame and appreciates it as a one off, however, what you say implies that the winning bid may have been £70.01, we will never know, nor do we need to.
The second thing is he wasnt a mate at the time but TK was so really I shouldn't have told TK and let the two of them try to out bid each other.
It's that flat written word again, "mates rates" is a popular turn of phrase, not a statement of fact.
Other factors were as you well know at your behest Zenn got the Chris frame and the Julian was pulled to present to his wife at the ferry gig which neither you or Julians wife attended so I gave it to Julian.
I made Zee Em aware of the Chris frame, as he was offline at the time and I know him to be a big Chris fan; frankly I couldn't think who else would want it, for example, Jack can see Chris every day and not too long ago was trying to thin down his collection of SAHB memorabilia. I could not and did not force him to buy it or you to sell it too him, so, it was more at my suggestion, in case no other offers were received.
Thinking on it now, memory says there were no offers for Julian and yes, I suggested that you give it to his wife, although I had completely forgotten that. I was led to believe that she would be at the Ferry gig and I didn't realise that my attendance, or, indeed hers, was compulsory.
You also know who got what because I told you so for the record Sarge got the Ted his was the only bid,Zenn got the Chris,Julian got the Julian for free, the Max wasnt bid on (and that was a class job)I bought the alex photo for £50 and Sarge bought The toy soldier photo for a present.
You may have "told me so for the record" but other than Sarge winning Ted's frame and Zee Em having Chris', I have obviously failed miserably to record the information. I can only thank you for refreshing my memory regarding the other frames.
Sarge offered to pay for the cost of the framing from expenses but this would have taken most of the money so I declined the offer.
However, I DO recall you telling me this (mainly because I was surprised that expenses could be claimed) and the reason you gave for refusing expenses was so that you could keep control of the bids.
To assuage my guilt at TK not getting the Zal I made him a special frame (at my own expense)which was presented to him by Zal at the meal.
I had also completely forgotten TK's consolation prize frame, it was a lovely gesture and is treasured, I'm sure.
And ask Penny what else went on there .Its posts such as that quoted that make me not want to join in anymore NOT really about Alex is it
No it's not really about Alex is it - but then how many of your posts when you were a member were about Alex? We do what we can and banter and drivel on, no harm done. If I or my post/s are keeping you from being a member, that's more than a little odd, for a grown man, who was keen enough to maintain contact and quite bowled over by the contents destined for the frames - without which, let's face it, you'd have been auctioning empty frames. Rather a good idea of yours!!
.Any SAHB,SAHTB,or outfit gig I can attend I will the music still lives not a day goes by that I dont listen to it.
I hope you enjoy the gigs that you can attend and I'm pleased that the music continues to give you pleasure on a daily basis. You missed some great music and good fun at The Not the Sensational Alex Harvey Band's gigs, or did you manage to get to Colwyn Bay? I understand you may well have missed them altogether, what with the new boiler and your daughter's wedding..
So roll on Sahbstock 3 arranged on Chris's birthday that was definitely one of your better ideas.
Indeed, hurrah for SAHBstock III! Once again you're having a pop at what you perceive to be my ideas, always described in such a sarcastic tone. The choice of date on which SAHBstock III will be held is and was absolutely nothing to do with me. Indeed, I had just as little to do with my brother's date of birth.
I would, as previously mentioned, have preferred to reply to BR's post via pm. My response is neither a whinge nor a bitch; merely my reply, in my defence. Apologies for the tiresome tit for tat that seems to crop up every now and again but I fail to see why I should just sit here and be harangued by a former member, who has now become that which he so disliked, a lurker.
Hi Ginnie just checked missed some punctuation again still its the thought that counts.[/size]

My observation on the whole thing is, it was an auction, yet no posts of who was bidding and how much were ever posted, which made it all a bit odd for me, but it is all done and dusted now, so that will no doubt not help matters one bit, and as for "all about Alex", well i'll throw my two bobs worth in, no one i know has done more or tried harder or given up their time more freely and happily to further the cause and the promotion of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band and to help the fans of the band than our very own Catherine Glen, now i freely admit i'm biased coz i am proud to regard her as a friend, but there has been what feels like an undercurrent against her, well i'm here to say knock it on the fuckin head now, not because its Catherine , but because cliques and hidden agendas are gonna scupper this forum, so can all the grown men and women stop this fuckin nonsense now please.

yes your correct on that catherine, i opened the bidding on the zal frame with £70 but got a pm from B.R. telling me not to bid anymore as no matter what bid i placed i would be outbid , the frame went to brian from the tribute band. TK was concerned that this post had been deleted - in fact, we've had a frenzy of thread fecking!!!! ;D
