All the best folks Stu There's a story about your mates bottle as well Stu. It was the one that I won at SAHBstock, there was no way I could take it on the plane, so I gave it to Big Hoggy to do what he felt fit with. The star decided on donating it to raise more money for a good cause.

Just heard that the dvds (twin) of the gig are about ready now. Should be a real collector's item as there will be no more SAHTB gigs.

I'm afraid ,I disagree....... this Forum layout surely has to be THE most frustratingly complicated ever. If you don't catch the 'last 20 posts' daily.....how do you find anything that's been added elsewhere in the huge web of diplicated subject threads ? The Yahoo is simple........ if you click 'individual mails' as opposed to 'read on the web'........, you get every topic to your inbox...... missing nothing.......just alot of deleting of mince !! ...or is this dinosaur not moving with the times ?

Many forums are laid out the same way as this one - there are some differences though. On my hockey forum I click on "View New Content" and all threads that have new posts since I last checked come up. Originally, on this forum, and another forum I'm on which is also a proboards forum, it showed only the last 10 posts daily - I requested that this be changed to 20 and it was on both. BTW that could easily be changed to 30 or 40 or more... I just joined the Yahoo Group last night Jack, and am finding it a very interesting place so far.

Thee and me both Sir Jack - I tried but cannot get to grips with the Yahoo site!! It took some time to get comfy on here but Colin McBurnie, TK & Hoggy were so friendly and helpful that I was encouraged to stay.
I think you just have to be prepared to set aside at least half an hour to read - then pop on and post!!
Good luck Barney!! ;D

What's this about SAHTB? Are you sure!!? That's sad news indeed.
BTW Catherine, I saw your intro to the night and thought it was fabulous! You know at the Wee Red Bar when you intro'd us a guy thought you were going to be the singer. Anyway class and a fine tribute.

Yes, it's in 'hibernation' Gordon.............The Sensational Alex Harvey Tribute Band (Glasgow) evolved when we discovered Richy McKay singing solo in a Glasgow pub.....he sang.....'Big Louie'.......when asked of the possibility of singing more Alex with a band of like-minder musicians....there was no stopping him. His Father brought him up on Harvey-music.
The band was put together for SAHBstock 2......... We played another couple of gigs.........and then SAHBstock 3. The musicians(incl' Richy) had busy schedules with there own bands. We got together again for The Alex Harvey Story. We had gained some popularity....why not use it to raise funds for a great cause ?
Having achieved that, Richy had freedom of time to tie up a few recordings and ventures of his own, and a visit to Australia, a one-man 'busking tour' was something he hoped to do in 2011........ therefore SAHTB couldn't commit to any further 'tributes' although there were many offers.
As most people now know.......Richy is a fabulous tribute to Alex Harvey. I don't think there is a vocalist in Britain who could master the vocals and mannerisms of Alex Harvey so well.......
Personally, I hope it's not the last time I get to play bass behind the talented Mr McKay..........hopefully doing 'Harvey.'..........
The 2-disc DVD set is a 'must' for fans of Alex Harvey'........it's not SAHB of course......but for a SAHB-FAN band put together in a few rehearsals.........I think it's well worth the donation to The Memorial to Alex...............

Anything to do with Alex or S.A.H.B. gets my backing, every time. The S.A.H.T.B were/are bloody amazing, everyone of the band, not just Richy played their part to the full, much to our appreciation, ah just wish Richy would change his mind and stay here for another umpteen years and do S.A.H.T.B gigs, at least til' am deid ;D Thanks guys for the enjoyment and fun you gave us while it lasted, you were awesome.

Argh!! yes, I've seen it too - I had no idea that would be included on the DVD - but just before I launched into my speechifying, I did say that I had the honour of introducing The Nots just 6 months earlier - and in Embra, one guy was heard to say along the lines of "help ma boab, it's a wummin singin'"! ;D

I agree with Hoggy. Ritchie needs to get his travelling out of his system, then he will be ready to come back and he and the band can wow us all again.

Rich'll be back sooner or later - I agree with Sir Jack, although no-one in this life is indispensible, Richy would be bloody difficult to replace. The whole band is bob on now but his "Alex" is so very good in so many ways.....
