I met the funny little fella what plays the guitar for the first time ever. Shook his hand and was lost for words but whatever I said must have given me away cos he took the piss out of my accent with a crap impression of it. You'er not taking the piss out of Barnsley accents now!!??

So does Zal's Gal - he is better at his impersonation of it now, being practically indigenous!!

Here we go again - it was a whole weekend.....with a packed programme
Roll up, roll up - getcher tee shirts here!! Our Gibby
Janette models the Zal Suit during the auction
The delightful Sarah de Carlo models an original acid yellow tee; God knows what Suze aka Ridjaikit (now you know why - red jacket) is doing; Martin Jarvis (management of the time) Jon Morrison, great helper outer that weekend and unknown to me girl with long blonde hair.......the auction - the vast expanse of dark tartan in the foreground is the kilt that Chris wore during "The Farewell Tour"
Everyone really got into the spirit of the weekend but I have seen Janette's make up looking more flattering!!!
Mike reclaims his Missus - just in case she ran off to join the circus
Chris & Ted had recently worked with Gwyn Ashton - he was one of the guests
Hey hey!! We're on again guys
Oh the Tomahawk Kid d'ya know what he did? (he gave the headress to our own TK at SAHBstock I)
Who're you calling "Paleface" - Paleface!! (note token blue cricket box to remind us, lest we forget of Chris' penchant for wearing pale blue undies over his trousers
Is that a pointy finger I see before me?
Zal hits a high note
Yi dancin'?........ Who's askin'?
Cheeky!!

That, then, was a bit of the 1st SAHB Convention.
This is the bit after.....
Chris came back to our place afterwards & stayed a couple of nights - one of which was here, when he met his new best friend....and decided this was where he wanted to celebrate his 60th birthday.....
OMG!!! You know the size of Chris - check the size of that bed!!
And on to Glasgow, where we were hosting a dinner with as many of those involved in the convention as possible Arriving & mingling outside The Ubiquitous Chip
Hurrah!! A celebration of a successfull convention - cheers!
Not many people have managed to surprise Colin........
But he was surprised and delighted that night....
That was the convention weekend, that was.........but the Brotherhood had another gig coming up........

Gently meandering a bit off thread now; November the same year SAHB was back in our neck of the woods (ie within a two hours drive) it was just after Chris' birthday, I recall and we were in Nottigham..........this is the gig that BIG Chris came to and booked the band for the Bulldog bash the following May....
The plush, plumptious dressing room.....not!
I'll just sit here; wherzma? hmmm, it's very green.....must be the green room.....
Now who's cool!!
No lurkers please!!
Just a small Buckie, thankyou, waiter!!
Practice pad! Paradiddles & press rolls - practice prevents poor performance!! (Ted uses heavier than his usual, white painted sticks sticks to practice) (Handy for getting you taken safely across the road in a strange town, too!)
Laser light check.......light's on - anybody home??
Is this lip liner a bit too dark?
Next - we're ON!! (apologies for the poorer than usual poor quality - I never claimed to be David Bailey - of the next few - we were on a sort of gallery, upstairs, outside the dressing room, too far from the stage - but you can still see Sarah & Buzz )
This was the night they performed "The Tale of the Giant Stoneater" live

Can I just ask, Catherine, is Ted wearing cycling gear in that photo? Please say he is. I could say so - but I'd be lying ;D
He went on to daub stripes on his face and go all American footballer ;D - said he just fancied a change and was trying to keep it fresh - like Maxxxx on this tour wearing the long black coat that Chris looked so Terminator in the tour before - no good pics ( ;D) but in Nottingham Maxxx stood behind Chris and Zal holding the hems of the coat out at arms' length - DRACULA!! it was fabulously effective.
Ah! Your question, Penny......the short answer** is NO
**not my speciality - Catherine must try harder
