Oh, come now, surely some folks on here must go out for Halloween parties? Well, tonights the night for me. Will be going out as dear Alex. My wife was going to go as Zal but she backed out so I'll try to have fun without her! BTW got Zal's blessing (via facebook), he said "Have fun dressing up - we always did" ! Some pics from the past: Last year - me and my lovely wife... Twenty or so years ago, I'm Bud the Zombie: Even further back - Groucho. (now that is NOT my wife!) [/quote] I'll post some pics from tonights party sometime tomorrow.... Meanwhile, got any pics of your own? Are you going out to party?

To be honest Ginnie, the boom in Halloween has only really happened over here in the last (I would have said) 10 years or so.
Trick or treating is seen as a nuisance and actively discouraged in lots of places. My sister didnt have any sweets to give to kids that called to hers last night and they threw eggs at her house and the car.
Looking forward to seeing your photos, looks like you always have a good time.

Great pics all, hope you all had a fabulous time - a costume very like the one that Gaz is wearing was in Mr Thursday' for dry cleaning the other week - never a dull!! ;D
We went to one of the big retail parks hereabouts yesterday afternoon, from Tesco down to Boots and then into KFC for tea - we were accosted, no fewer than four times by the same 2 little girls, about 8 or 9 years old wearing normal clothes with the additiion of a "scary" mask - "trick or treat - money or sweets - money goes to Children in Need" - time and time again they boldly approached total strangers with this mantra - it was blatant begging.
They came into KFC, their mothers waited at the open door, and went round all the tables and people waiting to be served.
When I was that age, we dressed up, in whatever was available - Mum's old party dress, whatever; went door to door, only to people we knew well, close neighbours and friends; we were invited in and then had to do our turn - sing or dance or whatever - we earned our Hallowe'en and it was all good fun.
Money to Children in Need - my fat arse - going by the look of them Mummy's dope habit, more like.
