Earlier this year I was in Strathclyde looking for bats, in the company of a colleague best described as a colonial Scot; they keep a castle up north but spend most of the time in East Africa. We were watching reruns of Top of the Pops 1975, before he was born, and commenting on the absolute lack of quality in the songs and performances. I told him to keep watching because at some point he would see Scotland's greatest musician singing a Jimmie Rodgers' song. It didn't happen and my colleague thought I was making it up. He knew J.R. because there is an mp3 disc of all his songs stuck in the cd player of the truck, but, in common with most Scots below 40 years old, he didn't know Alex Harvey. As soon as I got a chance (this morning) I searched Youtube for Alex singing gambling bar rooms blues on Top of the Pops, but drew a blank. I can find one from Supersonic, but I'm quite certain that I saw it on Top of the Pops. Am I remembering right? And am I right in thinking that the only other Jimmie Rodgers' song that Alex covered was T.B. Blues?

I really don't know the answer to this - I'm certain someone on Facepaint will, maybe Zal or Ted.
I thought the band only did Delilah & Boston Tea Party on Top of the Pops..........
