Well done, MG!! That's great that you've hooked up with our local friendly war criminal erm, I mean good Doktor and that you're widening your cultural horizons - karma!!
Personally, I couldn't care very much less about the olympics, no matter where they are held - the general attitude of the news coverage seems very negative - waiting for London to slip up and fail.......I ought to send them twenty pence and then they can call someone who cares!!!!

I love the Olympics and Paralympics, going to put my bunting back up on the weekend to show some support.
Noticed the police out doing security checks in town yesterday, they were taking the covers off the road crossing wait/go units and then putting tape on them when they had been checked.
The Women's Football is in Cardiff on Saturday

Also looking at the pictures in the tub I always envisaged Mini G to be that size but expected our favourite Teutonic fugitive to be quite a bit bigger.

Just heard on the news that Tom Daley the British diver was tweeted by someone after not doing very well this afternoon in the pool who said 'You realise you've let your Dad down today, don't you'. How nasty.

I must confess - "Mrs Not Bothered" - I've watched the weight lifting (the lightweight guys), the girls gymnastics and some swimming - principally because it's on every channel but in truth because I quite like bits of it!!

Mr. B informs me that we have won more gold medals today. Great news. I am enjoying hearing about it I must say. Nothing else to do here at the moment, so it stops me getting too bored.

The opening ceremony was spectacular, I wasn't surprised though, you knew Londoners would be professional, well, a little surprised, very cool . How about "Blade Runner", amazing right?

Missed it all, might watch on iplayer later. Everyone seems to be impressed with it though, even if it did include the Spice Girls! Well done to all the athletes that took part, its gone so very well. Looking forward to the start of the Paralympics now, which just doesn't get as much publicity or coverage as the Olympics does, shamefully.

Managed until 10.30 of the closing ceremony.......apparently it picked up aquite a bit thereafter (it would!! ) but Darling Man has recorded it, so I quite look forward to it!!
Have watched lots of bits and bobs of the Olympics but when it gets to lots of black people running round in circles, with the token white or two thrown in for good measure, my dear, I'd sooner eat my feet!!
HOWEVER, when the gold medal was presented to the men's marathon winner - his smile just lit up the whole of London and beyond - and said it all.
I thought the guy dishing out the flowers was a bit heavy handed.........there's wheat from Shropshire in them thar posies!!
Watched the BIG guys weight lifting.......sadly the weights were BIG too, so it was more like weight dropping!! OUCH!!
Men's Pole vault was good - ooeer missus!! Synchronised swimming, hmm, not as good as it used to be - although I'm sure it's very clever not to drown, whilst artistically waving your legs about, looking gorgeous and not chipping the pedicure!!!

Saw some of the closing ceremony today at my sister Dale's house. Felt quite tearful, especially when Freddie Mercury was shown. He would have been bloody marvellous wouldn't he. Far better than that twunt Russel Brand or the Spice Girls!
The games have been brilliant, loved every minute.
