Wishing everyone and their families here a safe and relaxing Christmas. Don't eat too much, and don't drink too much! I figured out a proper home for the Christmas cards!

Beautiful tree, Sir Gin; ours is a take it out the box, fluff it up a bit and plug it in fibre optic job.......it languishes yet in the rafters of the garage, cos I can't reach it!!
Health and safety says make sure those cards aren''t too near any of the lights.........

At this time of year I wish I were Noddy Holder and then I could shout in very characteristic fashion 'It's Xmas'. Or for Penny's benefit I might do a 'nadolig llawen'.

I don't know what nadolig llawen means by the way. A welsh pal writes it on my Christmas card. If it is offensive to english people as these things occasionally are I apologise in advance unreservedly.

There's no lights on my Christmas tree mother!!! No presents under the tree, in fact no tree because the world was meant to end yesterday so I'd spent all the money on Pernod snufflers.
So all the best to everyone, hope you have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and maybe's be seeing you all again in February, weather permitting.

I'd like to add my best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - with the help of my cousin's (one of many!!) younger grand daughter, Arya and Jack the Dog!! I figure this has all the schmaltz and "ahhh!" factor that a Christmas card can have .......although it was Jack the dog that got me!! ;D

Got a couple of days of and my son is here from Toronto with his cat. Going to Long & McQuade today to spend some gift certificates! Here's to you getting some great bargains in the sales, Ginnie! Drove my youngest into the city centre earlier as she wanted to get dvd's and spend a book token. Loads of people leaving town laden with bags from the sales, apparently Next (fashion and home wear shop) started their sale by opening at 6 o'clock this morning! The queue is usually round the block before they open. Madness.

Like Ginnie and Penny, was and still is a good Christmas; we have done very little at all of any practical use; eaten well of the roast beef, roast potatoes done in goose fat, creamed potatoes, carrots, trees and cauliflower, followed by my boozy orange jelly, heavily laced with Winter Pimms No.3, mandarins, meringues and cream - last night of that tonight -we still have to fit in the Christmas pudding somewhere!! Lots of lovely wines, carefully selected by Darling Man, nice, nice, nice.
