To whom it may concern, I'm co-producing a screen play and a documentary film and co-researching a biography on "Sonny Boy Williamson" (Alex "Rice" Miller 1913-65). The Alex Harvey Soul Band backed up and appeared with "Sonny Boy" in 1964 in Scotland on a few occasions, according to numerous accounts. A few folks in the UK have told me that Jimmy "The General" Grimes has spoken about those days and was in that version of the band.
Miller also appeared in Scotland with the Chris Barber Band. I'm interviewing Mr. Barber this summer in the UK and would love to find someone who was in that version of the Alex Harvey Soul Band to talk to them about their first hand memories of working with "Sonny Boy". I'd also be interested in speaking to anyone who saw the AHSB with Miller or with Chris Barber in Scotland, or that happened to meet Miller, while he was in the UK.
