Great show, guys, really awesome!! Next time in Isernhagen the Bluesgarage will be a lot fuller and there will also be some spare Marshalls for Zal!! The weirdest thing for me was that I MISSED the unfamous opening song after waiting for it some 30 years...think i´ll have to check the connections to glasgow now... You need much more and new promotion here in Germany, most people here have to recognize first that you are "back" again. SAHB rocks!! Hope to see you again soon! Greetz & love from Isernhagen, Matt

Good Morning All! First up, thank you for your messages of support and appreciation, I'm a soppy old sod really and as I write, I have a tear in my eye. Thankyou. Feedback and/or critisism from you guys is vital. Secondly, a great big "wielen danke" (hope my German spelling is ok there) to the fabulous faithful of Insernhagen and the brilliant Blues Garage - a terrific venue, spot on sound and Happy Henry is the perfect host. By the way, "Insernhagen" means "iron wood" - just thought I'd share my recent learning curve with you - and that's where we were on Saturday, not Hannover! After a real long haul, train (for Hugh) road, overnight ferry and a lot more road - part of which was closed due to a major accident - the band arrived safely, albeit tired, in Insernhagen. My better half, Colin and I flew out on Saturday morning - it still manages to take 7 hours to do a 2.5 hour flight! We arrived at the venue just as Max was hovering around the doorway - he literally did a double take! Magnificent marvellous Mike was holding the fort on the merch table and .....................do you believe me? Zal was meeting and greeting and signing at the dressing room door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I don't know what my darling friend, his lovely Rachel said to him before he left but by the lord Harry - it worked!!!!!!! Chris, Ted and Hugh were back at the hotel - so when they got back - what a welcome we got - apparently our very presence was more uplifting than a small amount of Coca Cola - that would be what was meant - wouldn't it???!!! 9pm - The Sensational Alex Harvey Band took the stage. THE FAITH HEALER......THE FAITH HEALER.........THE FAITH HEALAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Where we would say that just gives you goose bumps, the German equivalent is "chicken skin"! And, as ever, the opening number hit the mark. The set list follows (one of my favourites) Midnight Moses, Swampsnake, NEXT, Isobel Goudie, (apparently they don't have witches in Germany!) Framed then, fabulously - ein break fur ein zigaretten - how very civilized!!!! Back on stage, Zal, with his seemingly adequate, if limited German, asked if we'd all had a good cigarette break - perhaps a piece of fruit might be refreshing - I'm sure you can guess where the two apples and banana, mysteriously missing fom the dressing room, were - yup! Body temperature fruit! Amos Moses, $25 For a Massage, Teenage Idol, Gang Bang, St Anthony and Actionsrasse. I'm not being funny here but it was the best we've ever seen or heard them - despite the odd technical hitch (Zal blew up the nice man's amp - oops!) It just did not matter - they were more than aptly named and did what they say on the tin - they were SENSATIONAL. Encore of Buffs Bar Blues to such an appreciative (although small) audience that they were compelled to follow with Delilah. Then I put on my bossy boots and asked them to do one more - the place was jumping! I didn't wait to hear all the reasons and or excuses why not - and on they came again! Runaway....Hurrah!!!!!! So many of the people there had no idea that SAHB was up and about - well, they know now! Naturally, I suggested that Glasgow or the Robin in December are awfully easy to get to - I hope to see some of our new friends from Inserhagen there, I'm sure we can make room for them. One guy had flown from Nurnberg another had driven 300 km. One lovely chap, who only had vision in one eye, has all the orginal albums and could not believe his luck at seeing them again - he even bought a copy of Zalvation to send to his friend in Scotland - which I got signed for him, he will send it to his friend Deano Higgins in Scotland - apparently he's in a band called "Run" or something similar - I didn't quite catch the name -bless you Manfred. If anyone out there knows of Deano Higgins - let me know!!!!!! All in all, I had a pure dead brilliant week end! If I've managed to give you a flavour of it, I'm pleased. The band should get home sometime today, then they'll be pleased too! Love & hugs! (I've doubtless missed something critical - somay be back before long!!)xxxx

Knew I'd forget something! Zal asked the audience if there was anyone famous from Hanover - prompted by their polite and confused silence and very possibly prompted further yet by my 5th Jim Beam & Coca Cola, I hollered................."The Queen of England!!!!!" We were advised that she is of the House of Hanover rather than actually being Hanoverian.....guess they don't want her back than, although Zal forgot to ask!

...my confusion about the Isernhagen quiz question took 3 days, but here is my answer: Emil Berliner, the inventor of the record disc and the grammophone, was born in Hannover!

This is true! Hannover used to be a hotspot for rock´n roll in the 70s/80s, most successful export act were "ballad rockers" The Scorpions....
