Great gig at the O2 on Tuesday - one of the best ever in fact! ;D Despite being 2/3 of the way back, up on the side (lower tier), with some noisy chatter-box barstewards behind us, who only stopped rabbiting long enough to go and get another round in (about 10 times) and when they recognised a song (about 4 times) Cant complain about the tickets tho, it was a sell-out within about 0.03 of a second of the tix goin on sale, so a miracle we ever got the chance to go (and thanks to the mate 'in the trade') Gomez supported, played just over 1/2hr, pretty average to my ears, but they were well received and finished their set with one of their 'heavier' tracks which went down well..... maybe just cos it was the last one The O2 seems to be able to get bands to run on schedule and tuesday was no exception, PJ came on at 8.45 as expected and opened with one of their 'slowies'; 'Release' VID HERE The crowd contributed a lot to making it such a good nite, singing along with most of the songs, and giving Eddie Vedder a break and more chance to swig from his bottle(s) of wine eg ALIVE & BLACKGood mixture of new/old/covers, ie not too many new ones or covers - just 3 of each. With a dodgy track record of covers in the past, The Who's 'Love Reign O'er Me' was a good choice and the old standard 'Leaving Here' by Holland/Dozier/Holland also went down well - I just about recognised it as the b-side of Motorhead's 1st single I bought back in 1877 They did 28 tracks in all, over 2 1/2 hrs, with 2 encores - the last song looking to be a genuine last minute thought, as they were just about to go off and decided to do one more - even played it with the house lights up SNIPPET HERE loads more good vids on the 'Tube if you're interested! Only down-side of the nite was EV announcing that they wouldnt be returning to Europe for quite a while Set list for anyone still reading.... * Release * Animal * Corduroy * Why Go * Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town * Immortality * The Fixer * Even Flow * I Got Id * Rats * Got Some * Whipping * Light Years * Insignificance * Black * Life Wasted * Blood(Atomic Dog) Encore 1 * Supersonic * Hail Hail * Footsteps * Love Reign O'er Me * Do The Evolution * Alive Encore 2 * Better Man * Crazy Mary * Leaving Here * Porch * Yellow Ledbetter
