Ok, I'll attempt to get it back on course... First name that occurred to me that hadnt been mentioned was Tom Morello... Dont think he's capable of playing in a style other than that he's used since he started in Rage Against The Machine, and continued thru Audioslave... Havent heard his latest solo stuff yet tho, so I could be proved wrong...

There was a time years ago when I'd have said Mark Knopfler had a unique sound (back when the aptly name DIRE Staits started out), but then I saw Gary Moore on a program on TV demonstrating different guitar effects & sounds, and he had the Dire Straits sound down to a tee! ;D
