Only Def Leppard Ive bought so Ill have to agree with Pete rest is shite mind This comment also relates to the Demon album, I have never heard anything else by them except for The Plague. I think that I was afraid that they had peaked on this one and nothing else would be anywhere near it. Still a popular band mostly in Europe I know the drummer talented guy.

I happened to see Def Leppard a couple or three yeras ago, along with Cheap Trick, when SAHB opened the show in Hammersmith. I only managed to stay for three or numbers by Def Leppard, I'm sure they're very good but a bit tum ti tum for me - Cheap Trick were AMAZING......SAHB were VERY shabby indeed.

An album that was ahead of its time and was one of the most bizarre releases of the 70s was Lou Reeds Metal Machine Music, it is now been rereleased and is being praised in the music press as something exeptional, yet the story at the time of its release was that Lou Reed wanted out of his contract with RCA but still was contracted to do two more albums, so he went into the studio and basically pissed about with guitars and synths for two hours, came out and said its a double conceptual album, i've now fulfilled my contract, i have heard half of side one years ago, and its bloody awful, it was only on general release for about ten weeks before it was pulled off the shelves, coz so many people returned it
But its now rereleased, it has one of the most iconic covers with Lou Reed never looking cooler on the cover, ahead of its time or just a big joke at the expense of fans and recording companies, you decide!!!
oh if you ever come across this in vinyl, its worth a few bob!!!

Yeah, I bought that! Each side was 16:01 long, so even as a double album it was only 64 minutes total. You have to listen to it with full attention to notice the minute differences as the music plays - and their are differences. It was pretty mesmerizing to listen to if you were on some sort of substance. I don't remember feeling ripped off or anything when I bought it. I think Lester Bangs reviewed it in Cream magazine something like this : 0101 01 01011 0110 11 0 110 01 10 and on and on...

This was the cover in Britain, i nearly bought it, but decided to buy an unknown American bands debut single on 12" vinyl mainly because the picture on the cover was so evocative
