Yep, a legend but overlooked by 'the youth of today' who think good drumming is judged by how fast and how much you can use your bass drum pedals Not seen Porky Tree but like their music and musicianship Going to see Living Colour later today. Saw them about a year ago and Will Calhoun did the best solo I've seen apart from Neil Peart.... praps even as good Really looking forward to seeing him/them again as my son's coming this time & he's a budding drummer

Buddy is the boy.
My fave drummer in the world is Ginger Baker, and there's others I love too, but Buddy...he's just the boy.

Neil Peart at the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert in 2007. He performed at it also in 1992 but thought he was just emulating, not really playing it. So he took more lessons and agreed to play it again in 2007 when he was asked by Buddy Rich's daughter. I think he does a good job!

Hey lets not stop there - what about this guy, you all know him.. I'm not a big fan of his music, or even post Gabriel Genesis, but always like his drumming even back in '74 listening to Genesis Live.

His playing on 'We're Going Wrong' is magnificent:- www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRmN9TonquAKeith Moon needs a mention here too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=moNGqf6iSME

I guess we all take Ted for granted. That said, I've always loved his drumming - there are so many distinctive parts that you could identify some songs just by listening to the drum part solo (Ringo was like that too). Examples like the intro to Vambo, River of Love, Framed, and Man the Jar etc...and there are many more.

Keith Moon was great - wild but spot on with his timing. On Live at Leeds everyone gives a super unrestrained performance - almost punk like only they can play a lot better.
