I think that some artists were (unfairly) labeled as grunge acts simply because they came from Seattle. There's more to Seattle than Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Queensryche, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden are 3 examples

They named it that because all the press was doin' writeups about Pearl Jam VS. Nirvana....

(running away) yeah, I'm a bit peculiar that way, although I think you're aware my tastes a rather broad- I just feel abandoned by that stuff because its whiny to me and has no notable guitar soloing. I'm old you know

If VS is on a par with 10, I'm sure I'll love it! I have difficulty in determining which one I like better... like trying to decide if you like Sgt. Pepper or Abby Road the most... (not that Pearl Jam is in the same league as the Beatles though...)

My dad likes Pear Jam's Binaural album, but that's because he's a nerd not a grunge fan!

Pearl Jam are brilliant, Live on two legs is their "official" live albumand it is great they also have about 30/40 semi official Concert bootlegs, got about 10 of them all good soundboard recordings, Vitalogy is well worth a listen as is Riot Act, 10 is their supposed classic album, i've had the original then i got the re-release, either one is well worth a listen, the five disc Live at the Gorge is worth having too!!!
