I suppose that this post could go on the Last Gig... thread but I have to put a shout in for Elkie Brooks who I saw at the Forum last Friday.
She still has a superb voice and, apart from her well known hits, does some great cover versions of Nights in White Satin, Money and Love potion No9 (among many others).
Probably Britain's best ever female blues singer.
(That should start a lively discussion!)

Like most of the rest on this board I am of a certain age.....
I could wax lyrical about J Jop, S Nick, S Krist, G Slick and on and on....
However I would like to tip the nod some of the bright young things doing good work today...
Saw Lizzy Hale (Halestorm) supporting Slash earlier this year and she belts out a great (untreated) vocal live - perhaps a bit Suzy Q but great fun !
another (guilty pleasure) - a little bit POP sensibility but she writes / plays / sings own material .. Marina from M and the diamonds...Long term could go either way - lets hope she does not get seduced by the biz....
Oh yes and by the way did I also say they are both as fit as *"@!
