New picture game here.... Post a photo of a poster of a concert you wish you had gone to "back in the day", or even today. I came across this one: This was an all weekend event - what a fricken' lineup!

Hey this is interesting - Led Zeppelin played in my town in 1969. The backing band was a local band called "Copperpenny" who had a Canadian hit with "Sittin' On A Poor Man's Throne". I know the bass player Ron.

Here are some historic appearances that I wished I had been to:
The Beatles on Ed Sullivan (the first appearance Feb. '64) ... also wouldn't mind being on the bus for the Magical Mystery Tour! Woodstock!!! SAHB anywhere, anytime! Live Aid 1985 - the London show, especially to see the mesmerizing U2 performance Neil Young - the Rust Never Sleeps Tour The Jimi Hendrix Experience - the New Years Eve show 1971 I believe The Band - Farewell Show San Francisco 1975? David Bowie - Santa Monica 1972 The Rolling Stones - Madison Square Gardens, NY 1969 Genesis - the Gabriel era - anywhere, 1973 or 1974 Iggy and the Stooges - anywhere in '71 or '72 New York Dolls - on the Don Krishner Rock Show in 1973 (I think)

Jimi Hendrix
Janis Joplin
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones (in the 60's)
David Bowie
Sahb (with Alex)
Dio
Status Quo
Frank Zappa
Budgie
Led Zeppelin
Deep Purple
Amongst others I am too tired to think of.

I was at the Bucolic Frolic, apparently, a strange day, not helped by the herbal tobacco in circulation, I do remember Sahb being superb, Mahavishnu were also great, if a little lost on the predominantly "rock" audience, no recollection of Tim Buckley or Doobie Brothers, Van the Man wasn't, and when the Allman Brothers were on stage I was floating in the Cosmos! festivals, don't you just love 'em.

God, I'm always so envious of anybody who saw SAHB. The only thing that comes close is seeing the Beatles. I've only ever met one person who did, I think. Vic seeing Hendrix would come in third.

I do find that trying to remember any event back then is very difficult for me. Hey - we had herbal tobacco in circulation a lot here too, plus the multicoloured pills and such. I was at a few concerts where I have absolutely no memory of what it sounded like...

Now HERE's an interesting one! Neil Young with MSG (when Chris was a member I think) and April Wine, a very popular Canadian band.

Yes, His Chrisness was with MSG at that time, it was just one month after my son (a tiny little Christopher) was born and Chris was back in Glasgow to see the baby not long after that - he kinda had baby brain back then, as his daughter was about 18 months old at the time - Chris was quite a startling vision for a tiny baby!!!!

Here is the one for me www.ukrockfestivals.com/Knebworth-festival-1986.html , me and a few mates had tickets (£26 inc coach) but disaster struck when a friend called Geraint (same age as me) had a fatal bike accident just a week before. The funeral was the day before the concert and none of us felt like going. I never did get to see Queen.
