I'm worried about Vic, he hasn't been on his Facebook page since Oct 29 as far as I can tell. I tried to phone him and it wouldn't go through.
On his home town's webpage it says:
Please be advised: The Monroe-Woodbury High School at 155 Dunderberg Road, Central Valley, NY, will remain as a local shelter throughout the weekend. To the Residents of Monroe: This has been an unprecedented event. We have cancelled Halloween because of the danger that exists from downed electrical wires that may still be live. O&R must confirm that they are not live before we can attempt any tree removal. We simply want people to be safe. This situation has restricted our efforts with both Garbage pick-up and Dial-A-Bus. It was not safe for the trucks and buses to run on Wednesday. So recyclables are set over to next week. The Dial-a-Bus will run a fixed route Thursday with limited door to door service as best we can. The fixed route should be able to continue and we will increase the door to door service on a daily basis as roads conditions improve. Our Community Channel 22 is down and hopefully will be repaired by Thursday. Information will also be on our website. The South Orange Family Y has graciously offered showers and water to anyone who needs these services. They have asked us to tell people that later in the day is the best time. They are open Monday-Friday 5:30AM-10PM, Saturday 7AM-5PM and Sunday 8AM-4PM. We thank them for their generosity. Lakeside Firehouse is open as a shelter for those who need warmth. There are no cots. Please bring with you a blanket, pillow, food, medications and items to keep you entertained especially for children. Sandy Leonard Monroe Town Supervisor

Full credit to the Hogmeister and his aids, another fantastic night.
Apologies to all those that "tried" to talk with me while the bands were playing, my hearings dodgy at the best of times but with a "little" bit of background noise I'm left trying to guess what people are saying!
Great to see you all again and look forward to the NEXT gathering.

Am I missing something. Saturday evening major event was (in the words of Borat) great success and nobody seems to be on here mentioning it. The bands were great, it was nice to see so many friendly familiar faces and someone should say a big thank you to the organisers for doing such a great job. There were SAHB members there and folk dressed as Zal and Chris. I think it might be difficult to top. Thanks to the guy in the Fez who managed to bring so many people that looked like him. Right- what are you going to come up with next guys?

Right- what are you going to come up with next guys? Well anyone who was there is probably still hung over! For me, it was a great day. Didn't start out the best - was it late in starting? The video feed was very choppy, it got better as time wore on but went in and out throughout the evening. I thought I was alone watching it - no one chatting but soon enough some great folks joined in. Madnutbag - some of you may know her, she plays in Gord's other band I think... Muzzab (from Australia), Snakebite160,Trebornodroj, Ddolmer (who lives about 100 miles from here in Canada), Vamborule, Maxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx himself joined in, and of course our very own Victor! Forgive me for forgetting the nicknames of Sandra and Brian (also from Australia) . I realized that it wasn't so much the show that was the most important thing - as great as it was - but the people I connected with. The NOTS set was absolutely blistering! It must have been tough for the other act to follow. Pretty cool that I was first to post pics even though I was three thousand miles away! ;D

Sorry I missed a mention from my last rant. Cavey was there looking resplendent in his kilt and offered to confirm the question about what he wears underneath. And Gibby was there too. All we needed was a big merch stall for him to man and we'd cracked it. The webmeister took loads of photos of the assembled throng and might share a few on his or this website if we ask nicely. Apart from the one of me which does not look flattering.

It was a truly fantastic night. Abolutely loved Electric Warrior as usual they had us dancing and singing from the very beginning of their set. Bombskare were just brilliant, what fun we had dancing to them. The energy they played with was simply breath taking. The Nots were Sensational, it was so good to hear Sone Eater etc played live. Very theatrical and a fitting set that pleased us all. The Resonators added an extra bit of class, good musicians and an exciting set. It was great to meet up eith you all again, especially Suze and Gibby, Isobel and Stuart, Paul (Huntvambo (The Tourist)) T.K , Mo's Chad and Angie, Big Hoggy, Addy and Isabel, Jack, Rachel and Zal, Elaine and Chris, Catherine and Colin, Caveman, Mike Drew, Colin McB, Mike and Jannett Forrest, Fiona and everyone else that made Julie and myself so welcome. We can't wait to return. All in all it was a well organised event that entertained and raised loads of money for a brilliant cause. Big Hoggy is a Leg End Oh yes, I nearly forgot, Pernod shots? ??

Nver knowingly doing things by halves, we set off from Shropshire, me straight from Mr T's invoicing, at around 11.30am on Thursday 1st November - places to go and people to see.
An incident free journey and there we were in Auld Reekie, Mike Dearest Fellow Drew picked us up and we headed for the Voodoo Rooms......a certain guitar had to be placed in the hands of one very excited NOT Zal. Edinburgh and her as yet not working tram system, i.e. endless roadworks and roads closed, did her level best to thwart us but this plan had been in the pipeline for many months and my middle name is "tenacity".
Parking illegally, Darling Man and Dearest Fellow legged it to the venue and handed over the Gibson - hurrah!! Now we could head for Leith and have our slap up steak dinner at Fishers - fish and seafood may be the house specialities but, damn me, they do the best steak anywhere I've been - in fact, this was a return visit!!
To the gig, first of The NOTS teeny tiny toty Tourette - nice wee room, not too big, not too small and full of the most enthusiastic fans and friends, old and new. People from the very first NOTS gig in the Wee Red bar were there as was our very own CAVEMAN!! Fabulous to see him and to meet (and approve of!!) his lovely lady, Alison. The band performed a cracking set - a really good start to the weekend.
Friday was hairdresser day - I've not been trimmed or colour assisted since July, so, given that I'd saved up for 6 months for this SAHBrock weekend, to Charlie Millers went I - bliss!!
A bit of essential nail polish shopping and for Glasgow then we headed - we had a dinner date with some friends, Rachel,, Zal & Penny, at the Glasgow landmark, The Rogano.
As bad luck would have it, my Pennyfriend didn't make the trip from Cardiff and she was sorely missed - the first thing Rachel said when she got there was "where's Penny?".
A delightful dinner was had, with catching up and much giggling too - and so to bed - tomorrow was to be a big day!! SAHBrock!!

Where was I, oh, yes, we had got to SAHBrock morning.......but there was more to be getting on with than SAHBrock........given that His Chrisness' birthday was but three days hence and that we were seeing him so near to the day, we had a few pressies to surprise him with. He knew we were having a bit of a birthday tea to celebrate but he thought it would just be Darling Man and me, Elaine, Billy and himself, Rachel and Zal and Rachel's Dad and brother, who were driving up from Yorkshire.
Tee hee! He is SO easy to spring surprises on!! Unbeknowns to him, Mike Dearest Fellow Drew and his two GAWJUS daughters and son, my sweetiepop Pennyfriend, The NOTS and Caveman & the lovely Alison and Caroline & Jonny the lovely couple who organized the Alzheimer fundraiser a wee while ago would also be there!! Hurrah!!!
Right, so contact Chris to encourage him to come out to our motel at Braehead, ostensibly to let us see his new car in daylight, then realising I was going to fast run out of time, I brought my hair up do appointment forward by an hour and a half - in the meantime my phone was mainly switched off as the battery was so low - I was advised by he who did the packing because I was at work that I hadn't left out the charger, so, nope, not packed - harrumph!! Anywayz, to the huge shopping mall we took ourselves for a spot of brunch before my hair appointment. So far, so good.
The lovely young man, Alex (an omen?) asked what was I going to be wearing and the juniors admired my half silver half black on the diagonal nails.......I told him and off to work he went, he thought exagerated and asymetric was the way to go, with a plait going from right to left at the front - in an effort to stop my hair frizzling lest I begin to glow!! he wasn't kidding with his description - that's exactly how it turned out!!
Just as we got back to the motel a shiny lipstick red car said "toot toot" - it was soon to be birthday boy but without Elaine & Billy!! Bugger, plan unravelling!! No matter, re hashed plan, I got my slap on while Colin showed Chris what Chris thought was Colin's new giant parka jacket......whit a tottie!! I've lost count of the times we've surprised Chris and still , bless him, he expects and asks for nothing and is ALWAYS genuinely surprised!! The next package proclaimed on the yellow hazard sign gift tag "DANGER MAY CONTAIN SOCKS"......but there was no room in the gift bag for socks once his set of Boss toiletries was in there - the socks just came as they were!! He wouldn't open the bottle bag but insisted on guessing - he's just a wee boy at heart - eventually, I said what do you always tell the waitress you'd like when she comes to take a drinks order.....YES......a wee pint of Drambuie!! Well, a bottle, which, of course had to be opened and three tots shared - hic!!
By now, sporting more make up than Ronald McDonald, I was ready to go into town, to the Mussel Inn to meet the others, We were half an hour early but that was a good thing, it meant Chris would be a bit late and hopefully everyone would be there before he was.
Then I broke my golden rule of never drinking while I'm "working" or at least until the last band is onstage.....a bottle of wine was ordered to help us recover from being in the delightfully funny funny company of the overly excited Chris!!

Rachel and Zal arrived, not so late as they invariably are for everything!! Crisis!! Rachel's Dad and brother, George, were trapped at a standstill on the motorway; a major road traffic accident, requiring all the emergency services and the air ambulance helicopter, closed the motorway. It is to be hoped that all involved in that dreadful incident have survived and are on their way to full recovery.
The Evans are a sturdy breed, made of strong stuff and one minute they phoned from Gretna, the next minute thay had arrived in Glasgow, checked into the hotel and arrived at the restaurant!! Now, Rachel could relax properly and get some more wine ordered!!
Chris, Elaine and Billy were there as was Gordon, NOT Alex, the rest of the band was doing a soundcheck - which took less time than anticipated, so soon they were there too, including Gaby, Eva's husband, NOT a roadie again!! I had a text from Caroline, her father-in-law has been seriously ill for some time now and had taken a turn for the worse, so they couldn't make it, hopefully the operation was a success and we'll meet up one day soon. Our waitress, Becky, brought me the phone - it was Alison (further approval gained for coming back for a second helping of SAHBsters!!) Cavey had got the times muddled up and thought they'd missed the meal - two ticks later they were with us - the Cavester RESPLENDANT as ever and Alison just giggling at him!!
So, a little behind schedule, we had a delicious meal and quaffed a glass or two, too. We had a deadline to meet though; we had to arrive en masse for 6.30pm, to ensure that our two under 21s were in the venue before the phsyco bitch from hell bouncer clocked on............
Bills paid, coats and stage outfit collected - sadly Huntvambo's raffle prize picture was forgotten in the rush but was retrieved later - we hurried towards Ivory Black and SAHBrock 2012....................bugger, Electric Warrior was already onstage and the bitchy bouncer was nowhere to be seen - phew!!
Gordon and I dashed down to the dressing room, he fastened me into perhaps my most absurd get up yet, while I read through my "opening" speechification........just as well I had missed the chance to read it, I doubt if I could have said "obstetrics" or "paediatric specialist accident & emergency", it was cast aside and upstairs we went, into the capacity crowd, which, to a man, was hell bent on having a sensational night.
