This happens all the time - songs you find out were actually performed by someone else other than who you thought...

A looooooooooong time ago, I thought that "The Air That I Breathe" was by Bowie - not The Hollies...



I thought this one - Rescue Me - was by Aretha Franklin:

Good thread, Sir Gin, I knew the first two, probably old enough to have heard them by their originators in the first place - but Rescue Me was a revelation!! (last time I called them it was the "please hold, your call is important to us" music for Green Flag, the vehicle breakdown recovery people - made me laugh!!)
