Just in case anyone is interested. Apparently this is the final ever Planet Gong gig. See you there! Thr 28 Jun - UK, London, Camden, Dingwalls - PLANET GONG and HERE & NOW more details Well what have we here! Daevid and Here & Now go, "Ah what the...lets do it" (one last time?), and unleash the brilliant space-punk beast that is Planet Gong, now turbo-charged with new drummer Merv of Eat Static and ex Ozric Tentacles. A legendary Gong band that simply couldn't be accommodated at the Unconvention last October due to the sheer energy needed to play and surf it's anarchico-esoterico sound wave - they all need a lie down in a darkened room for 24 hours afterwards. On a rock level doesn't get much better than the live Floating Anarchy set. The last time this particular Pandora's Box was braved was at Midsummer's Day in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight in 2003. I remember at one stage being literally pinned against the wall of the venue by sound as what started out as a glorious riff went on, and on, and on as the audience endlessly threw bizarre, yet oddly meaningful shapes in a flickering web of strobe-light - past a point of, well pain actually, through, " Arghhh, when will this ever stop?", to a tranquil, almost quiet place of complete surrender which was accompanied by the totally calm and rational thought, "Hummm, so this is how it all ends", most extraordinary. You never know quite what you get when you evoke the forces of chaos in a devotional way, come and experience it with us.
