Planet of the Apemen - Battle For Earth. 'Dramatised account of how Homo sapiens became the dominant hominid species on the planet.' Very interesting. I'd like to see that one. It was just your sort of programme, Ginnie.

Planet of the Apemen again.
Earth 32 million years ago and how it would have been for our ancestors, homosapiens and neanderthals.
Apparently, neanderthals had exceptionally good eyesight......and it wasn't from eating plenty of carrots!! ;D

Watching a programme about September 11th. Interviews with a lot of people involved at the time, like Dick Cheney and Mayor Galiani.
Very interesting to hear it from their point of view and also to hear about and see things that weren't shown or spoken about at the time.
I have to admit I had never heard of the World Trade Centre or the Twin Towers before the tragedy happened. It looks even more horrific now than it did then somehow.
The poor families of all those poor, poor people, how do you get over something as appalling as that.

The tea time game show 'Pointless'.
Better, I think, than 'The Weakest Link'.

So much for an early night. Ended up watching Four Lions about British born would be terrorists, funny and thought provoking at the same time. Then a film called Bronson was on , that's about Britain's most dangerous prisoner Michael Patterson now known as Charles Bronson. Very good, but on too late so have recorded the rest.

I watched some of the programme last night featuring Ian Hislop and was about when bankers were good. It included mention of one who when his bank went bust committed suicide as he could not bear to watch the devastation of his customers as well as himself. I wonder if any are thinking of doing the honourable thing now?

I think we all know the answer is a resounding NO......even if they did try to make good, it's a great many days and a great many dollars short

Watched a dvd on the weekend that I got P for Christmas, Derek and Clive Get the Horn. What a load of self indulgent crap. P had always said how funny they were but even he agreed it was tedious to say the least. Glad that it was only a fiver but cross that someone has made money from a pile of rubbish.

We did very little of consequence over the weekend but we did watch (recorded) Erin Brockovitch - a film I've wanted to see for the longest time - very good it was too. We also watched Dickens' "Mystery of Edwin Drood" - he was no Agatha Christie but I enjoyed it too - I have slept through many a good film and did rather well to stay interested and alert!!

Today have watched (again) the film Matilda.
Pam Ferris (Miss Trunchbull) says that this was one of her favourite characters.
Must have been great fun.

Was watching Ghostrider earlier, starring Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes, a bit of a silly plot, but enjoyable all the same. Some good special effects andNC got to ride a fabulous bike.

Just seen Newt Ginrich on tv......did he REALLY say that kids could be paid to clean floors in school and be paid.....or did my eyes and ears deceive me? Poor little kids and their families on this programme, reduced to eating out of bins and have even eaten rats. Massive queues to see a doctor in the early hours of the morning because they are free of charge then. OMG.

The 1963 film "Children Of The Damned" starring Ian Hendry and Alan Badel. One of the best British sci-fi movies ever made. Very chilling and beautifully filmed. Highly recommended.
