Umm.... how come my garden/yard looks so unkempt compared to Catherines? ;D Mine is far worse than yours Gin, grass hasn't been mowed for about a month and now the apple tree is shedding apples all over it. And I still haven't finished cutting the hedge in the front garden even though Ive got the cutter back from being mended. The house next door is up for sale, just hope our garden doesn't put buyers off!! ;D

Umm.... how come my garden/yard looks so unkempt compared to Catherines? ;D Because Darling Man is not obsessive, he's just particular!!! That's why the profusion is in pots only - which are my domain!! By their very definition they are contained and therefore relatively neat and tidy, and I do like symmetry, mainly because I haven't an artistic bone in my body and if I stray from symmetry it looks a right mess!! Also, much as I'd really love mini wilderness, cottage garden look of Sir Gin's garden, it just wouldn't work here - Colin cuts the grass twice a week in summer...........but I adore Gin's ferns & forget-me-nots

The tail end of the garden for this year.....
Chrysanthemuminoniums, some of the last flowers of the year, 1 palest pink and 1 white, should see us through til the snows...hopefully!!
This daft fuchsia has responded to our Indian summer by having more buds.......they saved it from the bin - although I'm sure they won't flower now, it's already flowered all summer long
On each side, the pretty little Violas should carry on flowering.....well see!! There are fragrant dwarf Narcissus "Minnow" and another early flowering bulb - no idea what it's called in with them, likewise in front of what's left of minature poppy "Pizzicato" in the centre pot
The blood red Rhododendron croaked after just one year so I was left with a pot full of Ericacious soil.....this fellow likes that, is evergreen and has plumptious big berries to brighten up Autumn & Winter - it may even flower at some point...
The black grass nursery......the four I had in big pots were pot bound and not happy, another three to be dealt with yet, as they have been thinned out, I've saved some little'uns to start over with, 2 are for Penny's perfect courtyard garden at her country estate.....
And the new kid on the block, Red Curly - he has a big long Latin name but his everyday name is much more user friendly!! He replaces one of the black grasses.......he is evergreen (or red?)with curly leaves and I think flowers sometime too - if I was to remember, the surprise would be spoiled!!

Isn't the black grass a brilliant thing, C.Cat - this is them way back when, over 2 years ago - before they grew just too big for their pots. In fact, when Colin's mother died, I had back the black grass I had given her, brought it on a bit popped it in a trendy contenporary pot and gave it to Zal as part of his 60th birthday present - he fell in love with my four.......I used to call them The Beatles...and they look too cute with snow on top!!.I somewhat cocked up this post yesterday - modified instead of quoted - I think To the left from the back door

The first snowdrop of the year - not in the whole world - just in my garden!!
The mad bulbathon plant-in seems to be working, lots of noses poking through......maybe I'm easily amazed but amazed, nevertheless, I am!!

All ye who lurk have been warned........
The little blue chaps are called "Glory of the Snow" and the tiny little lemon dot that you can't quite see is the first dwarf scented narcissus "Minnow"to show colour - lots more about the garden showing promise.
Three hyacinth, (ok, two, one was mysteriously beheaded : at the back door, sharing the pot, to come later, mixed freesia - I'm determined to get scent in the garden somehow
A line of four troughs of tulips, plain bright red and plain white, scented, on the wall - to be viewed at their best from within the conservatory, where the furniture is bright red
The most stalwart of flowers, helebore, always bows her head, lest it snows
The tall peach tulips will put on another good show, surrounding the pretty dicentra in the middle
Darling Man does not approve of "statues" in the garden......we've had Doug the mole living among the dwarf tulips for years now.....he's called after Douglas Bader, cos he has no legs.....the mole, not Darling Man (he has wonderful long legs......)
I sneaked in another, I would love a Bhudda too...but this will do for now, living between pachysandra and the cyclamen....
Another virtual pet dog, a door stop, really but freshly painted, he deserves to be seen. He's from the Ironbridge Heritage Site gift shop, made in Coalbrookdale, as was the Ironbridge itself, at the birth of industry - honest - Google it.....this guy's just called Dog.....

What a difference a few days of sunshine can make!!
I didn't know these little "Minnows" would be triple headed!!
The plan was, for them all to flower at the same time, black, white & red........
This gorgeous girl just keeps coming back

Your tulips look lovely! Would you have room for a passion flower at all? I was given it as a birthday present last year, its beautiful, but being a climber I'm afraid I won't be able to look after it properly.

What a difference a day makes!!
The "joys" of a temperate climate, harrumph!!
And we are 250 miles south of Glasgow - this is what happens when you let Aberdeen have record breaking sunshine - the weather sneaks in from Siberia - it's Aberdeen's job to absorb it and fend it off!!
The exotic deity has got her hat on!!! Solomon's Seal has just started to come through (behind) in the last few days - bet it wishes it hadn't bothered!!

Maybe our resident Nobel Prize winning climatologist should be spending more time sorting the weather out and NOT playing bass so often! It's gone from +21 to -2 degrees in less than a week WTF!!!!!

borrowed ginnies camera man is that thing heavy! first maggie pie meets the fairies for the first time. they just opened the doors today which means winter is officially over here. i have a crush on the "wingless" one but don't tell her one thing i like about ginnie is that he says his backyard is a "nature zone" or something like that any animal is welcome and no harm will come to them he built a birdhouse (which I'm eyeing as a personal residence) and there is straw stuff in it so some bird is doing something and another bird is using a hole where a post used to be last year ginnie had a hive of bumblebees and he is hoping they'll come back but so far we haven't seen them i hope he doesn't get sad over this... and this is good news maybe - ginnie has consented to Dr. Siggy staying for awhile in the spare room seems like Dr. Siggy really needs a place to stay like RIGHT NOW to "get away from the world"

Thanks for taking the trouble to share your tour of Ginnie's garden, MG - it's a wonderful and magical place.
You've been very busy indeed, what with the Guinness and updating your signature - you only have to look at ll those pics to know that everyone loves YOU, so it's right that you feel that you love everyone.........honest, it's not the Guinness!!
Even better yet, is that Dr Siggy can come to stay with you - he needs friends.

Very glad your able to take the Passion flower in Catherine, its beautiful, cream and purple, but we can't have it in the garden in Trumpton because we aren't there often enough to look after it and stop it growing all over everything. I will visit as soon as I can, I promise. MG, Ginnie's garden is lovely, a real paradise for birds and.animals. How is your head after the Guinness last night?
