The snow that's been falling since the early hours of yesterday morning has been blown in on the strong, bitterly cold easterly wind; pretty drift effects and patterns - as long as you don't have to go out in it!! Brightens up a dull gate!!
Bit of a drift at the garage door; going to make getting to the tumble dryer a challenge!!
Poor Pash shivers in the Siberian onslaught
The snow was only half a fairy deep when I went to work yesterday, now Arya Autumn Fairy is up to her wing tips!!
Nary a fairy to be seen but there are 9 of them in there somewhere!!
Bet the "Glory of the Snow" bulbs didn't plan on it being deeper than they are tall!!
Same pot this time last year (when we were sunbathing!!)
Optical illusion - the fence is not curved!!

Sounds a bit like a Floyd song? Drifting away, the snowflakes that brighten a dull gate

Yesterday morning, the beautiful sparkling diamond trim on the eaves of the shed were drip, drip, dripping.......
The Glory of the Snow bulbs start to win through
Arya Autumn Fairy wishes she's put on her cardigan!!
The tulip troughs, "sheltered" between the wall and wee conservatory, bore the brunt of the avalanches of snow from the conservatory roof............oops!!
Shimmering in the sunshine of this morning, the thaw continues

Despite dark and dire warning from the brilliant Bard, Peter of the Barrow about an invasion of giant slugs from Spain, thus far have only had to deal with two ordinary black slugs and a few very greedy snails...........bring it on slimeballs!!!!
Oh and two lily beetles died with their boots on, so to speak.......

Glad to hear that the fairies and all the plants are standing up to the rotten weather. At least they will have had a bit of sun today.
Been planting tomato seeds today, going to try growing heart shaped tomatoes this year. The mint, thyme and lavender plants are all coming back to life and the grass has had it's first hair cut. Got to keep on top of it when the house goes on the market.

Oh and two lily beetles died with their boots on, so to speak.......I tried to train some local cats to hunt the lily beetles in my grandad's garden, but the cats ended up fighting with each other!

Clear blue skies and very bright sunshine led me to where Passion Flower has hooked her latest tendril - she's been left to her own devices this year, gone all au naturelle - she's gone wild!! Not the best shot but she's clasped onto a cobweb between the shed and the garage!! Tendril and thread of cobweb but barely discernible, poo!! Now you can see the main body of the cobweb and if you peer, you'll see the tendril - sorry, best I could get - I'm too short!! Pash going crazy bonkers mad!! If only I could......this is the beeeeautiful hanging basket that Darling Man brought home on 22 June - she's come on a pace!! Time for tea.......don't worry, there are more to come!!

Thanks Penny, Pash has been here just over a year now, so maybe she's settled in!!
White geraniaum (get dripped on by a basket above)and baby trailing fuschia
Pink geraniums and baby trailng fuschia and trailing lobelia - Mehrty gets into bother with lobelia, trailing or otherwise!! ;D (bit of a theme??)
Red etc as above, with assorted surrounding - if anyone knows what that reddish/purpleish thing with sort of bottle brush flowers front left is please advise - it had nothing on but a price ticket and was in the wrong place in the garden centre, be good to know how she wants to be looked after!!
Solomon's Seal (minus greedy wee green caterpillars!!)
Funny wee wriggly wiggly Calla Lily, looks likes raspberry ripple ice cream!!
This year's tulip troughs - after the tulips!! Geraniums and dahliaetta, I don't know what the lime green leaved thing with the royal blue/purple flower is, I remember it from childhood and now it reminds me a little of a thistle; I rescused these from the flowerbed proper where dicentra an peony were crowding it out!! Ended up with two plants and one still in the bed - hurrah! free plants!!

OOPS!! Spot the error!!
This is the troughs.....dahlietta (another theme!!) freesia (no longer in flower) and tiny wee geraniums
BIG Dahlia "Arabian Night" towers over baby pink one and the cheeky wee faces of the pansies in the pot behind, they've just keep coming back!! Must be 4 years now!!
What a difference a day makes!!
My solution for short arses being able to reach hanging baskets to deadhead the petunias!!! Grapple hook elastic things, you know for securing stuff on the back of a bike, works for me""
Baby pink one
The first lily to flower, I'm sure I threw these away two years ago, they're a most odd colour, certainly not the baby pink the pack said they would be!!
Better of the troughs
What are these things.....mystery to me, they sem happy enough!!
A spidery blue flower comes from a bud with a "hairnet" on dunno what this is either!!

Garden looking beautiful again Catherine! Will take some photos of the roses in Kington and the beans we've got growing over the porch - Eric always grew them and several people had asked if we would be growing them too. They are pleased that we have and my lovely father in law would be too, bless him.
