Sorry Paul, I didn't see the post about the passing of your brother Gerry, he looks like a bit of a charcter in his picture, and reading what you said about him it seems he was.
Its a small comfort to know he had reconciled his passing from this world to the next and it is a wonderful thing knowing that as he left this world he did it knowing he was loved and surrounded by the love of all his family.
I hope the memories of the fun times help ease the pain and grief that you Paul and all your family will be feeling just now, from all of us at the Cave, our sincere and heartfelt condolences to you and all of your family.
May the pain of loss pass quickly, but the warm memories last forever.
R.I.P. Gerry J. Halley, another good man gone.

Joy and grief seem to go hand in hand sometimes, Cavie. There must be some purpose to that, although I don't think there is a God (at least not in the traditional Judeo-Christian sense) - but you know, like in a lot of areas, I could easily be wrong about that. And I'll just let you know that me and Gerry had many fun times together. He was a jokester and flirt right to the very end. I appreciate all the comments on here - its comforting to be able to share this with you guys. When tomorrow is over, I'll be back here getting into trouble or bugging the piss out of Vic and Craigie. BTW I really wanted to play "Anthem" at the Memorial, but Gerry wanted "Amazing Grace" instead. I think I'll request "Anthem" at mine, instead of "Memory of a Free Festival". ;D Cheers, Paul

Peter, our next door neighbour for the last fifteen years. He was a wonderful elderly gentleman who was in the hospital the last few weeks. We had planned to go see him but were occupied with other concerns recently. This year is not turning out very good.

Good neighbours are great to have, we used to have lovely elderly neighbours, but they have passed away over the years too. Keep your chin up. x

You may not have been Mary's biological daughter but I know how close you were, you don't need anniversaries, Penny, I'm sure you think of her every day, especially now you are spending so much time in her family home

Malcolm McLaren, the colourful former manager of The Sex Pistols and the guiding force behind punk, has died aged 64, died in New York this morning after a long battle with cancer.
Always thought he was a bit of a dick but he certainly made his mark

RIP Aamir Saddiqui, 17 murdered yesterday just a few streets away from our house.
Stabbed in his parents home (they were hurt too and are in hospital), it looks like a case of mistaken identity.
I can't really tell from his photo, but I may have taught him in reception. If he is the boy I'm thinking of he was a lovely lad, bright, cheerful and full of fun. Used to be 3 other lads he went round with, they would tell each other rude words in Urdu and laugh til they cried.
What a waste.

Actor James Aubrey Tregidgo (known as James Aubrey)aged 62 years. Most of you will probably have never heard of him. He lived near me and frequented one of my local pubs. Unfortunately the drink got the better of him and he had a heart attack last tuesday. His most famous roll was that of Ralph, one of the boys in the 1963 film Lord of the Flies. He also played Gavin Sorenson in Bouquet of Barbed Wire on TV and BJ in the Great Rock and Roll Swindle. He also appeared in numerous TV series in minor rolls and on stage in the West End. Sadly due to his alcoholism he died alone but he will be fondly remembered as a gentleman and talented actor who never realised his potential. RIP Jim.

RIP Stu "moggy" morgan,my best mate for 30 years.
He was a sincere bloke, nothing was too much trouble for him. We worked together for ages and developed a new "sport" together of jumping from roof to roof barefooted (too idle to come down the ladder and up another)
When i got divorced in 1990 ,stu and his wife took me in until i got sorted.
The funeral is on monday, where i will be raising a glass or 2 to a local legend, who will be sorely missed ,not only by me ,but the whole town, thats how much he was loved.
Stuart passed away last sunday from pneumonia, leaving girlfriend Samantha,3 kids and 2 step kids.
God bless you Stu, st Peter has got the 1st round in
