George Steinbrenner - owner of the New York Yankees. In 37 years his team won 7 World Series - quite the achievement! I know Vic will be toasting George tonight with some of that ancient alcohol he has laying around.

I know Vic will be toasting George tonight with some of that ancient alcohol he has laying around. Yes its a great loss to New Yorkers and the American sports world The guy was larger than life; uber generous with his money always put the best players on the field-that gave the Yankees the chance to win Bought the Yanks at a time when when the franchise was terrible for about $10 million- and built a a Billion dollar empire from it and restored the Yankees to former glory and the most recognized brand in the world but the rest of it is hard to explain-it was a New York love affair/soap opera " R.I.P. The "Boss" fondly nicknamed "General Steingrabber" by the NY Press I grew up in the Bronx where the Yanks call home; lived 15 mins from The famed "Baseball Cathedral " I was at those games when they were lucky if 5,000 people were in attendance. Last year the Yankees drew 4 million

Yesterday morning, Stewart Campbell, Visual Hits and friend of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, died.
Stewart, with his artistic and photographic skills and talents, was instrumental in the birth of this forum.
Whether you're having a pint, or saying your prayers, remember him.
Rest in peace.

Didn't he write 'I don't need no doctor'? He was obviously wrong on that one. Better version was by Humble Pie on the Rockin' the Filmore album.
