They are indeed. Hope to be able to meet at least one of them before the exhibition, I tried to find the right place on the Yahoo site to send money but couldn't. Anyone know the right place to look, I found the whole thing very confusing and I know I'm not the only one.

The Tribute Exhibit needs a fresh piece o work as it's centerpiece, maybe Max or Hoggy's Neice Cheryl would be up for it, or better still Both! There must be loads of talented Alex Fans who would love to showcase Their work at the PP Alex Tribute. Maybe even one big montage of loads of work

The latest from the People's Palace is that, despite radical management restructuring and general mincing and faffing about, it seems that they are now giving a 99.99% YES to the exhibit in the PP and it being unveiled in February - hurrah!!
If, for reasons as yet unknown to anyone, it should look like falling through (from the PP end of things) they have a contingency plan whereby the exhibit would be placed in the community area of Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum.
Yahoo Stu, the treasurer is meeting with the PP N.E.X.T. week just to tighten up the loose ends........YAY!!

Just saw that bit about photos on Facebook from Janet. Looks good! I don't do Facecloth but I do know that Janet has scanned a selection of her huge collection of SAHB pics and her work will be included in the exhibit - she's a great girl and has just dubbed me "Matriarch of SAHB" (adding that that's a good thing!!)
We're all familiar with some of her work - but from what I can gather, we ain't seen nuthin' yet!! Karma to Janet

Just in - hot off the press, from Sir Stu of Yahoo - many karma may he have Ok folks, long awaited update on our efforts to get Alex a place in the Peoples Palace. As you all may know I was informed at a previous meeting the hold up in getting a firm commitment was due to management changes within the museums in Glasgow. My plan was to wait until I had some time off work (due to operation) then pester them for a meeting. I went into hospital on 13th Oct and about 6 hours after the operation (still drugged to the eyeballs, lol) I received an e-mail from Fiona asking if I could meet with them to discuss way forward. I couldn't believe the timing, sooperb, so I agreed to meet with both Fiona and Caroline last Thursday. The meeting was very positive and we agreed to the following: We will have the exclusive use of the learning room for Sat 4th and Sun 5th Feb where we will set up video loop screened on wall with footage of Alex. Within the learning room there will also be wall space available for any photo's, posters, art, etc which can be displayed for that weekend. Guest speakers will perform various presentations and talks about Alex over the Sat & Sun. There will be a display cabinet on the ground floor dedicated for display of memorabilia. This display should remain in place for a number of weeks / months to be agreed. Exhibition of photos (some rare) on first floor. This display should remain in place for a number of weeks / months to be agreed. Having agreed to the above I have forwared the information they require to ensure they get the go-ahead to publish the details in the next "Whats On Magazine". When this is published then it's official, however both Fiona and Caroline have assured me this will be a formality and we are good to go. In addition to the above I have contacted the relevent people at GCC regarding getting permission for a bench, I received positive feedback although I haven't discussed the site yet (Glasgow Green would be first choice as this is where the Peoples Palace is) do you wish me to proceed with this also? It's your money folks so please shout out suggestions, but if we are to have the bench in place for Feb then we probably need to get moving and get it ordered by end of Oct / start of Nov. Ok, that should do for now, I will keep you posted when I receive further contact from PP. Here's to Alex Hail Vibrania.......
All the best, Stu2
