what a superb day and night, me, tom and craig travelled down on sunday morning, were met by jim, hannah and penny. paul then put himself out and came and picked us all up in his people carrier and took us all into nantwich, it was really appreciated paul, cheers mate.. we saw the jalopenas in the railway, they were brilliant, sorry sue.. lol.. then we had to get to the town hall for the sound check, that was a real pleasure to see the guys getting the sound right for later in the evening. everyone who went to the gig will tell you how good the sound was, the stage and the lighting were second to none. the show itself was absolutely amazing, everyone of the band were on top form from start to finish.. also had a bit of craic with the violinist who made an appearance, he was superb too. to meet everyone was great, all great company and the atmosphere was awesome.. catherine was rushing about looking after everyone, she is a real star, catherine you should be the manager of SAHB, the job you do. wish i could of had a bit more time to speak to you, but you never stood still long enough. that was a great moment when the band dedicated the tomahawk kid to penny and hannah, that was really appreciated by the girls. theres to many names to mention who i met, all fantastic, but i have to say a big thank you to penny, jim, hannah, craig, tom, paul (its just round the corner) sue, dave and the kids, not really kids are they? lol.. it was areal pleasure been in these guys company for the day. many thanks to you all.. last but not least a great big thank to you catherine for making all of this possible.. and i love the blonde hair, sorry i mean the er, copper honey or whatever you said it was.. lets hope this isnt the end of the road for SAHB, especially for max 99 not out.. even a one off gig every year would be amazing, surely this cant be the end can it?

Splendid post Mark, you brought a whole new meaning to being in the pink with your stunning sweater We'll meet again I'm sure and will spend more time together. I'm just delighted that I may have helped just a little to make it even better - it was a belter, was it not? ps my crowning glory is actually the same colour as it was in the avatar pic(which was taken at night and my barnet was clipped bak) warm honey and copper high & lowlights on a base not a million shades from my own - it's designed to confuse your eye......oh! and hide the grey!!!! Sorry, Arctic blonde. I just KNOW you really wanted the facts there! ;D

Hi All,
I'm not really one of the "gang" but I was at Nantwich and would like to add to the positive reviews. I can't say this was a classic SAHB concert, but the sound was superb and Julian did an excellent job. He did make it all look rather effortless and, whilst there was perhaps a lack of the usual fire and passion on that side of the stage, he did prove once and for all that the "show MUST go on". SAHB music needs to be heard for as long as these guys can make it possible. And for as long as they play I for one will be there. We owe at least that to dear Alex. Great night SAHB's and SAHB fans and, for once, a rather nice venue!!

AND.....Big Louie had a flashing Christmas tree badge on his jacket ;D How else would we recognise him? I cant really add anything to Sue's superb review, except that Wes was a great addition and hopefully we'll see him again (hint hint). Thanks to Chris for the emergency use of the toilets, and Max for the refreshments, stars Julian was amazing, it must be such a daunting task to stand in front of all those Zal fans and make the part your own, but he did it fantastically (is that a word?).... and with a proper Sandie Shaw vibe Assuming there'll be more gigs *fingers crossed*, it'll be great to see how it all develops. And of course Ted and Hugh were spot on, loved hearing the original versions of the tracks for a change... although it might be an idea to write the NEXT lyrics out on a giant banner across the front of the stage Its turning into a bit of a family reunion every time we all get together now, its so nice to see everyone, and I hope everyone got home safe and sound Great photos Sue by the way, did you knit the hat yourself? Special thanks (again) to Catherine, you're an absolute star, big hugs and kisses for you Right, who's got some photos to show us then

A late response, and everything has pretty much been said already. Really nice gig last night at Nantwich, and Julian did a really nice job of filling that right hand side of the stage (Zal is of course a tremendously difficult act to follow). Very impressive guitarist! And also a nice touch with Wes, the viloin player who really added to "Next".
It was a really nice show overall, Max was leading the fashion stakes as ever (!), and managed to get the lyrics right *some* of the time! Sorry, I can't comment on the sound as I was some way off to the the side of the stage so couldn't hear the proper mix. Still sounded good though where I was, as did the more original song arrangements.
Someone asked about the setlist, I wrote it down as things went along: Faith Healer, Midnight Moses, Next, Framed, Give My Compliments to the Chef, Amos Moses, Last of the Teenage Idols, Tomahawk Kid, Gang Bang, St Anthony, Vambo / (encore) Boston Tea Party, Delilah. The set started 9.32pm, ended 10.56pm.
Oh, I really enjoyed the local opening act too, The Jalapeno's. I thought they were fun, and they played well too. Nice guys as well.
After the recent events within SAHB, it was really nice to see them back on stage, and Max said several times that the show was his 99th with SAHB. Hoping #100 isn't far away!
Best regards to all, and nice to have seen some familiar faces last night! Kim (in Leeds)

Hello Everyone,
What a fantastic day and incredible concert in Nantwich yesterday.
It was great to meet everyone, I felt as though I knew a lot of you already, even though I didn't know what most of you looked like!
I phoned my mother as soon as I got home to let her know everyone was really lovely and I hadn't been murdered as she had predicted.
Thanks to Paul 'only round the corner' for the lift, to Nantwich, itwas good of you to come so far to pick 7 of us up. It was great to meet up with Mark, Craig, Tom, Hannah and Jim and set off to the pub together!
Being able to go in and see the band before the gig was fabulous, its great to see how things all come together. The gig itself was incredible, the sound was fantastic, lighting, the stage everything was top class. Julian is wonderful and it was great to hear Next with Wes' violin. The dedication to myself and Hannah for Tomohawk Kid was incredible, thank you so much guys and I know Hannah feels the same, but she is on holiday at the moment so can't post.
A huge thanks to Catherine. You really are a lovely, lovely person. Thanks so much for the book you gave me. I shall treasure it.
It can't end here! SAHB are just too good!
