In a tiny little voice, in a kind of shamefaced way, may I say "sorry" for the naughty children rambling on the forum last night - it was fun for us but doubtless tedious in the extreme for everyone else. Sorry Sorry from me too. I have got a headache today if that is any consolation! ;D

Well..... I recall the stoke gig pretty well.Alex kinda appeared behind a chainlink fence near the side of the stage and looked at us all then dissapeared.A lady came through and I went to speak to her and she was alex's missus> I begged her to get alex to come out again and he did.Very quiete he was too. It was the gig where YES made a cock of one of the songs ,then stopped and started it again-how pretentious. Met the whole band with alex outside the Dutch Pancake house in Manc and while hanging round outside the gig venue later on, the manager came out swearing saying where the hell are the band I told him and then he asked me to take him to the gaffe. He gave us free tickets for the gig after giving us 20 quid to get some post gig champagne for the chaps.Amazing Then when i first posted that story on here(earlier this year), ZAL himself got back to me and said some nice things-i was awestruck it was only my second post or summat. We live in a magical world when we meet our heroes.

That was Ted; I've checked - twice - Ted is the drummer with The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and he played Trillians with Paul Rose.
That's that cleared up - any more Alex stories??

My Alex meeting was brief but cool, After SAHB had disbanded Alex eventually did the tour with the new band, and played Edinburgh Playhouse, 3300 capacity, well only 400 turned out to see him, and everyone was spread out all over the venue, Alex got us all together in the front stalls, and did what he always did,he turned a potential disaster into a great night,(not sure about faith healer on the saxaphone though) anyway after the gig we climbed on stage and found our way up to the dressing room area (pretty gallus for me) there was about 20 or so folk waiting to meet Alex so we just joined the queue, A guy ushered everyone into the room at the same time so it was quite hectic, Alex gave everyone a few moments and was pretty cool, what struck me was his height, he was a lot smaller than i had imagined, anyway i didn't have anything to get signed, so i asked him to autograph a pound note, he pretended to put it in his back pocket, which made a few folk laugh, Then a voice from the back shouted, Hey Alex do you want to come to a party? Alex asked where is it? - Paisley was the reply, after a pause Alex answered PAISLEY - THE BIRTHPLACE OF ROCK 'N' ROLL!!. a cool get out if ever. I still have my pound note. ;D cheers md

I think Alex was referring to a story I've heard elsewhere about the first ever UK rock n' roll riot which took place at Paisley town Hall. I believe The Alex Harvey Sould Band and Sydney Devine were both oin the Bill that night... mibbes Catherine knows more? I'm also gonna contact the local Polis to see if the coppers notes from that night are available. I'll tell you my 'alex' story (if you can call it that) soon...
