Four of whom, as far as I know, have very full platters..... Oh sorry, didn't know. How could you, L'i'l Buddy? Either the responsibilities within the committee get shuffled around or new members are co-opted on to the committee - but that has such a high chance of too many cooks.
Far as I can make out, a date has yet to be decided and a venue secured; Buzz & Sarah's band, The Corvids, do an excellent Action Strasse and more besides, I'm sure.
The Nots were booked by the Garage, rather than the other way round - last year, the venues they played were not the best.
Good ideas from The Bard of Barrow - but mibbes already thought of?

Wish I lived in Glasgow, would be more than happy to help if I could. It would be a terrible shame if this didn't happen. But such is life!!

Idea!! How's about getting the Yahoo group involved? More brains, more ideas and more hands to the pump. We're all SAHBsters after-all.
Let's not let this die without exploring every avenue. I think thats a really good idea

Most of the venues want you out for 11 o'clock ish or thereabouts, which is pretty pish seeing as you guys are hauling your arses from way down south. I liked the Admiral Bar, where we had the first Sahbstock, ideal size for downsizing the event, but same again, an early finish. We need a venue booked first, then we have a date, only then can any musician offer their services.

Maybe then we will just have to settle for an early finish and decamp to a nearby hostelry to finish the evening? Ok, there would be no music then and we would be sharing the space with other people, but we can't have everything. The Alexander Thomson has a large bar area which is generally as dead as a dead thing. (it could do with livening up) PP and Peterb both know it, what do you two think? Hope these ideas aren't just silly.

Have been looking back through previous posts and there is no mention of Ivory Blacks being a contender for a venue. Was there a reason thats not been put forward, I can't remember? Also there is the issue of a name for the event. Ginnie came up with a good one with Alex's photo in the middle and also I think TK put forward a good suggestion. Sorry, Cavey, but the 'Gang Bang' idea as a name makes me cringe a bit, I don't think it would go very well on a poster either (even though I said it was ok before, Ive changed my mind) What do other people think? Maybe band wise, as Hoggy says there is a singer and drummer, maybe some of the Corvids could stand in for the other parts (don't know if they have a keyboard player) or maybe some of the musical SAHBsters can step forward to help make up the numbers OR maybe one or two of SAHTB wouldn't mind helping out on a few numbers?? Just my two peacocks worth, hope no one minds.

I could play bass, but someone would have to pay for my flight - $1900. And that only gets me to London!

Ivory Blacks is too big a venue Penny for a gig like the first one, it holds about 300, whereas the Admiral held 150 ish. Im of the same opinion as you too Penny, Gang Bang just doesn't do it for me im afraid, maybe something along the lines of the sensational alex harvey fan band night, or something. Any musician who would like to play in the band would obviously have to be able and willing to give their time for rehearsals etc, so dont know how that would fit in either problems problems

I hadn't appreciated that there was a much bigger capacity at IB's than at the Admiral, but thinking about it, I can picture that IB's is much bigger. And yes, TK pointed out to me earlier that musicians would need to be able to rehearse together, silly me, you can tell I'm not in a band, eh?? ;D Come on Sahbsters, get your thinking caps on!! We need to get moving on this and all ideas will be appreciated!! And I think I could make a very small guitar for Minnie Ginnie and an amp. If I send him to a committee member he can join in rehearsals.

Sounds logical and far from silly - maybe the AT has a function room of the right size............that would save decamping and losing people right and left on the long walk down that block!!

I heartilY agree, .
That, then, is that, BIG Hoggy has spoken
The Sensational Charitea Party
Charity Rocks 'n' Vambo Roolz
SAHBrock
The Rock ' n' Rool Charity Party
Rock with your **** out, ladies make their own arrangements
Where's the bloody Alka Seltzer
Give My Regards to Ian Dury (I don't think that was a serious suggestion - made me laugh, though)
The Mad Harvey Tea Party
The N.E.X.T. Event
The Hardy Harvey Charity Party
GOOD EVENING Boyz'n'Gurlz
The Sensational Rock'n'Rool Charity Extravaganza
In The Beginning
FANFARE
may I also suggest that we try to steer away from using SAHB in the name, unless as part of "SAHBsters"; although the event is being organized by SAHB fans who have met on the SAHB Official Forum, it's nothing to do with the band, as such, however, I'm sure we have their blessing.
just bringing previous suggestions to the fore......

I agree that Gang Bang wasn't right and if there isn't a charity to benefit then we can't put the word charity into the mix.
No function room at the Alexander Thomson. The bar is more of an after thought as well. It's okay for a drink to end the day but I wouldn't think it suitable tbh.
What are the chances of the Admiral Bar again, if we know we get kicked out early we have time to plan something after? The Solid Rock must be open til a late hour that seemed a good place to go after.
