Have a brilliant bank holiday weekend to everyone who has got one - don't know if there is one North of The Border. If there isn't, sorry, not rubbing your noses in it. Hope it's not a "traditional" bank holiday ~ rain, DIY and/or furniture shopping (keep an eye on those 'deals'!) In Kington and hoping to be able to scooter down to the Co-op, may not sound like much, but it's FREEDOM to me! Whatever your doing have a good one! Maybe post and tell? Thankyou.... hope you have a great bank holiday too Having a happy washing day..draping it around the house to dry as it is raining outside

Home tomorrow, plaster off and replaced on Tuesday, hope the ankle and heel are doing ok. Can't wait to see what's been done this time Very funny time was had in the pub last night watching slightly pished friends riding round the beer garden on my mobility scooter - they had so much fun!

I went to the opticians for a 'fields' test and my retinas being photographed because the kit was broken last time I went and...... the camera was broken again. The irony is that the 'shop' is all posh and shiny with lots of expensive specs but the business end is not quite as good it would appear. For the record I do not find the images of my retinas very flattering.

...and while I remember I had to tighten two nuts yesterday to 260 ftlb or lots more if you express it in Nm's. So asking a technically minded pal who lent me the large socket to carry out the deed exactly what this meant he said to put a length of scaffold tube on the thing and swing on it.

Stripey plaster ..sounds great .. seen people decorating their plaster with paintings & pen drawings..makes it more interesting I think, if they have to wearing for a while

They don't sound very good in that shop ..Is there another opticians somewhere else near by that would give you a better service ?

Create post? Does that mean write a letter? The opticians is 200 yards away and out in the sticks. The countryside has its drawbacks.

Your optician sounds like the one in Kington - it can take 6 months at least for glasses to be ready to pick up - it's useless, don't know how it keeps going, but I suppose at least they get as far as being able to choose glasses! Hope you get to sort it out soon

I use Specsavers now,it's a very busy city branch but very effciant & polite..I've had other private opticians but they didn't impress me much

Where is Queen Catherine of Vibrania when a witty retort is needed?? Here I is!! No witty retort, though!! Still finding this very user unfriendly!!! It was Tuesday lunchtime when you logged in, no one can expect witty retorts on a Tuesday lunchtime! It gets easier to use this new format - still think if it ain't broke don't fix it though. Ho, hum. Today I have been very busy. Tidying up, hanging washing up to dry, cooking, washing up, putting rubbish out. Have done quite well considering.

The water board came to look at my drains today for the umpteenth time . They have alternately said it is my problem then their problem and then embark on one plan of action followed by another. I think they are making it up as they go.

Going out tomorrow after having been confined to barracks most of the week. So looking forward to it. Going to buy a new laptop and a new microwave oven. Don't care if its raining, nothing will get me down. New plaster Tuesday - I'm going to ask for black and white stripes!
