Went to the British Museum today it was packed out...I ended up getting a membership so I could get in to see the Pompeii & Herculaneum exhibition.. all the tickets were sold out..it was interesting but I'd liked to seen more about Vesuvius ect... bought a little book ..couldn't take any photos there .. I realy liked this View Attachment and a mosaic of sea life too View Attachment ..I was realy tired when I got home hope every one is having a good Saturday The exhibition sounds great. It must have been really fascinating. Did you get to see most of the exhibition despite its being so packed? Fabulous pictures in the book too. Would love to go to Pompeii one day. Haven't had a bad Saturday, have only done washing and ironing, nothing exciting, got to be done though! Yes I did get to see it all, but it was often a long wait as everyone slowly moved along, it was very fascinating..I was also suprised at the amount of compassion people showed for people who were cast in plaster & resin from Pompeii..yes it would be great to go there ..I didn't know that there's is still very large areas of both cities that are yet to be excavated. Yes it's back to every day things like cleaning washing up ect for me too today

It must have been very moving to see the casts of the people who died all those years ago when the volcano erupted. The terror they must have felt doesn't bear thinking about, can only hope it was over quickly for them the poor things. I didn't realise that there was still a lot to be excavated either. Must be a painstaking and expensive job though, plus there would be a great need for treating it respectfully. Hopefully we will both get to visit the real thing one day Addy! :* Busy day today, bit of shopping done at Lidl and I've been and bought a new laptop. My old one died and was as heavy as lead, so heavy I couldn't pick it up with one hand. Lol. Dinner cooked and eaten, watching Countryfile now.

Yes it was a very special experience to be so close as the didn't have the casts in glass cases & they were exhibiting the beautiful golden jewelry that they were wearing beside them too.. I found the carbonised food and kitchen items very facinating ..so finely crafted Apparently they can't excavate any more in some areas because there are modern buildings above... like in in this pic Got a nice Pompeii picture postcard at the museum A busy day for me too I've been laying lino tiles & cleaning the garden, playing games with Suze & practicing guitar .. hope your new computer / laptop is great ?...We'll have a new Lidl store opening in a couple of days up the road ..must go along for the opening did you get any thing interesting at lidl?

Ooh, I didn't know there is carbonised food etc that was found at Pompeii, that's amazing. So glad you enjoyed the exhibition. Maybe something like that will reach here one day. Didn't get anything exciting at Lidl, I always look forward to picking up the leaflets with the weekly offers on when I'm there though. Hope you make it along to the opening of the store near you, should be worth going to. It will give you a break from housework too! Very pleased with my new laptop, going to take a bit of getting used to though. Not done much today, daughter and son in law took me to Asda and I've got a few Christmas presents (sorry for using the 'C' word in October, TK!) I may make decorations for presents too and maybe shopping bags. xx

well that didn't work. What I meant to say was - I didn't know there is carbonised food reminds me of my mother's cremation of a decent joint of meat. Perhaps it was from Pompeii.

As I chomped my way through my Ryvita, chorizo and tomato - heavy on the black pepper - (honest I've not become a "real" Facebooker, just teasing!!) I logged on here and really did try to read through recent posts and find quite how to post without quoting or quick replying.......Lunch was very, very tasty, however, my optomistic foray onto this 'ere forum, has left me no wiser and positively dashed.

Great photo cool SG, Zal would be proud lol. It is Feb.21,2014, holy cannoli time flies Addy. I taxi'd a brother that lost his drivers license to, a few too many fireball shots at the pub, for ten samolians a pack of newports and lunch at shark city. It was cool, I drove his vehicle. That is what I did today.
