Worthy of mention from recent editions. Fancy the revelation that Fred the Shred had a super injunction for THAT!! I knew he had one out but thought it was so they could not mention his competence without using a word that rhymes with banker. I have also seen the picture from the front page of the Herald with a picture of 'that' footballer with a superinjunction. Has anyone any idea who it is? I'm guessing Jermaine Pennant because he seems a bit of a naughty boy. Then again I'm not that sure so I'll have another look while I wait for suggestions.....

Forget that. Some MP has guessed correctly. Does he get a prize? They kept referring to Mr G over the weekend as CTB before his cover was blown. Any suggestions as to why they came up with that acronym? Anyway there's not much mention of Arnie on here. When his wife chucked him out I wonder if he said 'I'll be back'.

At the rate Ryan Giggs is going I think his next medical requirement will be to remove a pan from his head.

F1 So I thought I'm not sitting here waiting for the rain to stop in Canada and they surely won't start again and if they do it'll be a tiptoe round with it beong so wet. How wrong could I be.Anyway well done Jenson Button. At least we now know Vettel is not as bomb proof as we were beginning to think.

A canadian bit of news. Not a million miles from where I live folk seemed quite upset when the local town football team lost in the play-offs but a few beers later it was 'just one of those things'. Now we have a bit of inside info on this forum can I ask what they do in Vancouver when they lose???

They had over 100,000 people in the streets, expected to celebrate but the Boston Bruins hockey team beat the Vancouver Canucks and won the best of seven four games to three. But all you need is a hundred hooligans amongst that crowd to cause havoc and go looting and burning things. BTW - the "Stanley Cup" - the trophy for winning the National Hockey League championship is the biggest sporting event in Canada. Winning it means more than any Olympic or World Hockey championship. I wanted Boston to win. For some reason I don't like the Vancouver team and that dislike increased as the playoffs wore on.

And on the same theme it says in today's paper there was a serious bout of fisticuffs at Royal Ascot by a bar where they were serving Laurent Perrier champagne at £98 a bottle. I'm not sure where I stand on this one. It's bad enough having to pay £3 a pint for Fosters so on reflection if I had to pay that fer a wee swally I would probably have hit someone with the bottle too.

Likewise, any champagne under £100 can't be any good.

And on a similar theme - an alcoholic in Australia has got minced while in hospital by drinking the alcohol based hand sanitiser. Necessity really is the mother of invention. I wonder if he ordered it with a slice of lemon or swirled it round the container while sampling its bouquet?

Simona Halep says the improvement in her tennis rankings is as a result of her having had breast reduction surgery. I think they must work in reverse to my Wimpleton ranking system then.

None of the snippets I have ever put on here are as a result of mobile phone hacking or dodgy stuff like that- in case anybody was wondering. It does make you wonder what depths some of these people would go to though.

Or it could always be cut up into squares and put on a bit of string in the loo.

So, the Beckhams new baby girl has been named -
HARPER SEVEN.
Some one on tv said did they mean Half Past Seven. ;D

The Seven, I can understand (kinda!) and Harper could be so much worse, I suppose - it's better than Romeo or Cruz, I think..........why the compulsion to give their children ridiculous names? The only consolation for the children is that they will never go to school with Jack & Jill from normal families and get teased rotten - they will be at school with Apple & Bluebell and Chardonnay & Chlamydia

I thought Murdoch took his custard pie quite well. He's changed from when he was in the A Team though..

Lucien Freud RIP. Some of his paintings I would not describe as flattering though.

The news seems dire these days. If it's not bad stuff it's financial calamities. Can someone start a 'something nice' thread?
