Playing my new Epiphone short scale bass! Found out that if I play it through my small Fender R.A.D. amp with the "crunch" setting on it sounds just like the bass on early Grand Funk records! ;D
Had a jam last weekend with my friend who is in a local band. Lo and behold he played about 8 SAHB songs through his PA system that we played to. I introduced him and his wife (who sings in his band) to SAHB about two years ago, and I keep bugging him to include a SAHB song in his set but so far no go.

Mel Schacher is the reason I picked up the bass in the 1st place, back in the 70's. I'm a huge fan of early GFR. BTW Ginnie, here's a clip of a friend of mine playing his 7 string bass. I don't know how Eric does it...he's amazing.

Playing the old classics tonight on my new bass - the Animals "We gotta get outa this place" - what a good riff, and of course the Popeye song, Pink Panther theme song and the A&W commercial... sounded great!

Been playing lots of stuff - without pain - on my new short scale bass: Procol Harum - Simple Sister (nice bass line, that) Beatles - I Saw Her Standing There SAHB - Vambo Wings - Let Me Roll It next... tackling the whole first Black Sabbath album!

Sitting here with my SG on my lap,beginning work on a Rock Opera. "THE WORLD OF MILTON SMALLKETTLE" You're right BR ,the explorer doesn't feel comfortable being played sitting down. But the SG on the other hand feels just like Michelle Pfeifer sitting on my lap,curvacious,sweet to touch,sexy.........................Think i better go now

Couldn't tell you what notes they are though...

Been learning the bass part in the Beatles "I Want You (She's So Heavy) - brilliant bass lines. I think the notes are different everytime I listen to it!
