In the mid-seventies, the "Montrose" album was one of the most played albums we had - it was one of the few eight tracks my friend had - and along with a few others was played all the time to our camping and swimming adventures.

Jim Marshall the creator of Marshall Amplification died today aged 88, his amps provided many artists with their sound, too many to list, he always listened to musicians about what they wanted and was a very kind and generous man, he developed the 4x12 cabinets no band would be seen without, every guitarist wants a "Marshall stack" at some point, he was known affectionately as the father of loud and his company produce some of the most sought after equipment available.

ohhhh.... God Bless him!
He would keep alive trough each chord that will be played to this real special growling amps. Thank you Jim for what you give to us: a real master-tool ! From clean to metal overdrive you set in allways that bluesy guitar tendencis that let ring and hear each String clearly seperat.
Without Jim's Work Blues and Rockmusic never will be what it is.
Thank you Jim Marshall
(still looking at my DSL20 combo in my living Room :-)

I read a few of Ray's books growing up - "The Illustrated Man", "The Martian Chronicles", "Fahrenheit 451" . Very entertaining they are. Sad to see him go.
