Uncool or not, I used to love watching his variety show as a kid. Skipping through some of his Youtube vids tonight has stirred some very special childhood memories. Farewell, my huckleberry friend. well said Ian; I remember his show as well R.I.P.

I remember that both the above were must see tv when I was in short trousers. The Andy Williams show was probably just too nice for people to understand now. When I looked at all the Herbert Lom obits they were about the Pink Panther although I remember him more as the Dr Corder(?) in the Human Jungle. Am I showing my age?

At the bottom of the wiki page it says he is seriously ill and his death has been falsely reported. We could keep our fingers crossed for him.

However it says on the BBC that Clive Dunn has passed away. Cue all the phrases about them 'not liking it up 'em' I used to like Dad's Army.

Just as long as every radio station in the land doesn't dig up "Grandad" - so to speak - then RIP Clive Dunn.
One of Dad's favourite tv shows, still makes me laugh out loud now even though I've seen every episode at least twice. Beautifully written and really well acted, diamonds just don't fade.
RIP Mr Jones the butcher

Patrick Moore. I used to quite like watching him on Telly and then look out of the window for whatever he'd been on about.

I'm sure he'll be in his element now - if there is a heaven for hiim to be in, right next to all his stars and planets!! he was an institution, quintissentially English, a national treasure and a site of special scientific interest. May he rest in peace in deed - the world is a stupider place now he's gone.

Terrible, terrible news about the shooting at a primary school in Kentucky. Last I heard the dead stood at 27, 18 of them children. The gunman was apparently among the dead and so too was his mother, a teacher. RIP. Lost for words.

This is another crazy gunman killing in a school, almost a regular occurrence but no less tragic for that. A whole community torn asunder, too awful.
I sent some pics to a fan in Connecticut just a few weeks ago, I just hope he is not affected by this horror.
