It was about this time last year before i even booked the venue & put a thread up on the forum so i don't know what all the fuss is about. I am hoping this years charity will be "Make A Wish" who make wishes come true for kids with life threatening illnesses. The bands will be Electric Warrior TBC Invisible Idols The Sensational Alex Harvey Tribute Band Ticket price TBC but won't be £7.50 & there will be a raffle!! The ethos of SAHBstock has always been to give good home folks a great night out & to raise tons a cash for a great cause...END OF......, no matter who is organising it. Got a feeling the Charity might have already been picked.

Ok so being subtle dont work.It wasnt my place to post this info but Sarge has already contacted the Charity(Make a wish)offered the proceeds from SS3 and has been sent the relevant documemtation.Jack was probably unaware of this when he made his post.Im all for the Alex memorial ideas but dont think it would attract as much potential prizes for a raffle as make a wish.Still think the best idea is for each individual to donate personally to the memorial fund, then you'll know your part of what ever is finally achieved.

Ooooo!! Take a letter Ms Skywalker!! ;D Thanks for confirming that, BR - so - SAHBstock IV, then - plenty of time still before the memorial deadline. No-one gives a fig about the raffle, or the prizes and it's fair amount of endeavour and effort to go to only to find that the funds raised by it are not even quantified. However, I do appreciate that the likes of Fender and Gibson will want confirmation that they are donating for a charitable cause - but I also suspect that they just may have a note about Alex somewhere in their archives. All the individual donations that have already been made and are yet to be made, are exactly how the fund has grown - now with the prospective purchase of Hef's "Alex", a cash injection will surely not go wrong. Please, then, BR, put forward the suggestion to those to whom suggestions may be put - how about the proceeds from SAHBstock IV go to the Alex Memorial Fund?

Excellent news Boss, the bit about no-one giving a flying fig about the raffle.I was some way into writing E mails to send to various companies.since cavey was unable to do it thought someone better start. And now the news I needn't bother coz no-one cares, was getting tired of checking capitalisation and punctuation (thanks fer the nod on that one Ginnie)So its delete and relax ;D ;D ;D By the way what you doing after work? BR or whatever the f**k you are calling yourself this week!!!, i think the point Catherine was making was that a lot of folks at Sahbstock 2 couldn't have given a flying f**k about the raffle and that when all was tallied up none of us thought to seperate the ticket money for the raffle money, so we weren't exactly sure just how much the raffle made.
The question being then did we just give away two £130 Marshall amps , at least the same price or more 12 string guitar, two goody bags from Classic Rock which if you'd bougt everything in them wouldn't have given much change out of £100 each and many other prizes all to get £80, if that was the case f**k it, i would've put in £100 and kept the goody bags and the reverb amp, i know it was all in a good cause and the value ain't the point.
Apart from Linzi Drew Mike's daughter who won an amp, did anyone know who won what???
Also for those who weren't into the raffle it was a dead spot on the night and some folk left for pastures new which was a shame for SAHTB coz it was there maiden gig and a bigger audience would've been nice.

Just a wild guess here there was about 250 paying public ergo £1250,the sahb memorabilia £330 t shirts about £50 and I think the final amount was about £2400 but cant find the post.So excuding the raffle so £1650 less expenses £1450.It might then be inferred that the raffle raised almost a grand.Over a third of the total.Dont matter who got what clic sargeant got a grand thats 2000 packets of jacobs figs.

not on here as often as i should be,sorry about that, but i think things seem to be getting a little bit confusing.there are some people that don,t even support sahbstock inclluding the members of the the original band at sahb stock 1....why?if theyre sahb fans surely they would attend....maybe just busy.some bitchiness on here t times..why? r we not all all wanting the same thing .....sahb music and all things sahb...can we not all be supportive.sarge has done a lot and i can tell u it was not easy.and he has done great so far,as has the others who helped.if u want to help and can do something why don,t u put ur name forward,i,m sure it would be much appreciated.this year the charity is for make wish ...it was already picked before the suggestion was made about alex,s memorial, the band has already said that it would play and support anything for this event but nothing has happened regarding this,i know it all takes time so maybe they could do with some help to.its a great thing so can we all not get a bit more behind that too and arrange another event for it....means another sahb night....sounds like an idea to me.....so lets get rid of all this negativity and get behind doing something special for alex....and lets get the guys from sahbstock 1 involved,we all want the same thing.we all want to keep the music alive.

Dump the raffle, that's my opinion. I was givin out the prizes on the night and it was totally shambolic, no-one knew who, what, or even bothered where the prizes came from, and as for any-one showing excitement at what they had won, i could count on the one FINGER any that did. Sahbstock 1 a lot of the raffle prizes were memorabillia, got the crowd excited but was still a farce. I dont see it being any different this year. What about showing video clips of Alex and the boys in between the bands coming on, it wont raise extra money, but hey, would make it a better night and let all the people who were never fans of the band years ago see what they missed.

Just spoke to Ms Skywalker and we're in full agreement with you Brian. exactly the type of post to which I refer - I don't see anyone disagreeing. SAHBstock is a wonderful effort and a successful fundraiser, which revolves mainly around the tribute band - that's to be expected, it's Sarge's gig - no-one is knocking it or dissing him so I just don't get this dragging on all the king's men to post that which is blantantly obvious and has usually already been posted - especially when they only usually log on after a tribute band gig. Just who is it that you're trying to get at? The regulars on here are already familiar with SAHBstock and its aims, past achievments and future goals. We are also familiar with Sarge's role. Those who choose not to attend SAHBstock must have their reasons for making that choice just as a good few of you more recent and rare posters elect not to take part in the forum. Sarge has already stated that he will be staying off the forum for his own reasons - all of these choices are allowed - there's no law, that I know of, says they're not. So, when you're all finished picking and pecking and posting patronising agreements, perhaps the forum will, as one, act for the greater good.

Jesus, I must either be blind, deaf or dumb 'cause the some recent posts regarding Sahbstock III are really bummin' me out, man. On the surface everyone seems "nice" enough but underneath there seems to be a lot of friction, and every positive comment is counteracted by two negative ones.... Are most folks just trying to find somethin' to argue about. Jeesh!
(God give me the willpower to skip reading this thread and stick to the POSITIVE one...)

I don't think anything really negative has been said on the topic of SAHBstock III, Sir Gin, we try very hard not to do negativity on here, it serves no useful purpose. There does seem to be a high level of defensive approach, odd when it has not been attacked and just maybe a smidgeon of that super sensitivity that crops up here every now and again. You're right, though, carry on and read the "positive" thread - your will power has been granted!!

For those who have suggested that SAHBstock1 had something that 2 didn't, I would have to agree. Didn't know anyone at SS1, apart from the company I was in, but it felt like a Party, in it's truest sense, even to a stranger such as myself. SS2 was a gig. An Incredibly Good one, and I'm in absolutely no way knocking it, but it was a gig. SS1 brought me onto this forum because I could see for myself from the night that there was a reason why it had felt like a party. I have to say, if I'd missed SS1 (which I'm Very Glad to say I didn't...Thanks Stu, Jack and TK!) and turned up for the first time at SS2 I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have come on forum ( who said "5hit" there??? : ) ). Don't really know why I'm postin this (do I ever??!!), suppose I'm hoping something will happen that will bring back that Party feeling. (I've got a box of Party Poppers if Anyone is interested).
