No, I think you're right Hoggy, it's early days yet - but the buzz and momentum of the run up to SAHBstock I can never be replicated or beaten, all the fun of not quite knowing whether it would fly or not - would some of the band play, or not - would there be a raffle, or not, who would all be there, or not!! Could Zenmetal pull off the hoped for webcam, or not? Would Mini Ginnie get there, or not? What would it be like to meet Caveman for the very first time?? So many "firsts" and that is what they will always be, the first..... ;D It was also very much a team effort and those guys were just SO excited (you being one Hogster!!) it was contagious!!

Thats very true Catherine, as much as last year was a great event, it just wasn't on a par as the first. Will we ever capture that feeling again? I doubt it.

I agree in many ways, maybe we should have a seperate SAHB Forum Dinner'n'Dance to regain the intimacy of the first Sahbstock, this years will be great in many ways but its still never get back all those firsts, unless i wear a mankini all night now theres a first!!!

Stuff like that.

It was about this time last year before i even booked the venue & put a thread up on the forum so i don't know what all the fuss is about.
I am hoping this years charity will be "Make A Wish" who make wishes come true for kids with life threatening illnesses.
The bands will be
Electric Warrior TBC
Invisible Idols
The Sensational Alex Harvey Tribute Band
Ticket price TBC but won't be £7.50 & there will be a raffle!!
The ethos of SAHBstock has always been to give good home folks a great night out & to raise tons a cash for a great cause...END OF......, no matter who is organising it.

No fuss, Sarge, looks like Cavey was just asking. No one is challenging or haranguing you, just wondering.
Of course it will be a grand night for the good home folks and of course there will be a raffle and of course loadsa money will be raised for a good cause, regardless of who organizes it all, as you say. "Fuss" and "END OF" could be a counter productive approach, relax Sarge, we know it's a lot to take on and it's appreciated.

If you remember right, Sahbstock 1, we all had a hand in helping it to be the best night ever,Ye know, T-Shirts, posters, Badges, tickets etc etc , now it seems as if it's just the Sarge doin it all by himself, mibbees if we were all involved again the excitment would reappear. Dont bite ma heid aff noo Sarge, yer daen a grand joab, just an observation.

This very point has been made several times, Missus and I, for one, am sure that the team effort, by fans for fans, went a long way to giving the evening that unique family atmosphere.
One of my lasting and fondest memories of the evening was TK & Hoggy, in a real tight bear hug, jigging around and around in a circle, chanting, "we dun it" "dun it" - I think that was as Ted, Maxxx & Chris took the stage....
Why anyone would bite off anyone's head at the stating of the facts makes no sense at all - but let's clarify it - none of this is criticism - just observation and the opinions of SAHBsters - last time I looked, we were still allowed to give our opinions.

Firstly before anybody reads this please believe me when I say I am in no way upset or whatever about the posts being written but there are a few misconceptions about SS1 & 2 & I will try to clear these up & again please believe me when I say this is not for self gratification. For SS1 I designed the T shirts & emailed the design to jamnah, I also designed the badges, TK emailed the design. I designed and made the AAA passes, ordered the brick wallpaper & made the wall. I arranged rehearsals for the fan band. I organised the running order & stage times for the bands. I suggested the venue to use. The other stuff was taken care off by TK. Caveman & Big H gathered up raffle prizes Big H sold the T's Caveman & Catherine drew the raffle. Now TK was not goin to be at SS2 so I did the stuff he didn't do & everybody else kinda did the same as they did for SS1(thankfully) except Penny sold the T's & Ginnie designed the posters & T shirts which I got printed. Everybody's help was so much appreciated. I was hoping that SS3 would be the same (with the added edge that it's Chris's 60th & that is why I booked the 6th Nov) but didn't really give it any thought as to when to start the ball rolling because it was too early & as I said before it was the middle of July before I booked Ivory Blacks last year I did PM Caveman a few weeks ago to ask if he was going to do this year the great job he did with raffle prizes last year which is what prompted Cavey to graciously say he couldn't manage this year, plus I had forgotten a conversation we had had a few months ago regarding his thoughts on the raffle. I don't want to do all of this on my own but if I have to I will but believe me when I say that you learn quickly when you organise an event and if TK had been involved in SS2 with me he probably would agree he would have done things a wee bit different the second time around & the third time around etc etc, you learn all the time. If you look back at the post I put on the morning after SS2 you will see just how much I appreciated EVERYBODYS help in making SS2 such a success. Please Read It

What does who did what matter - after all, in this life, no-one is indispensible - all I was saying, was that the family feeling and anticipation - to which contributed a great many factors - of SAHBstock I cannot be replicated, principally because it was a first, in every way.
ps the bubble bath and Ted, Max & Chris (anyone else COULD have invited them...... ) ;D
SAHBstock II had its very own anticipation - a different, bigger venue, more bands and the debut of the tribute band. I was probably most excited to see Vic and Ginnie's faces when Zal, Chris and Maxxx "Skyped" them - 'cos they didn't really know it was going to happen

Cant comment on sahbstockI coz I wasnt there.Sahbstock II was brilliant. The rockers gig was even better the band much tighter as comes with experience of playin together.By the time sahbstock III gets here they will be blistering. My hope is everyone on forum can pull together and make it even better than SSII.No ones going to ask for your support if you want too help offer it.As Hef said the outcome of so much depends on the actions of those who claim to be fans of SAHB.The Alex (showcase) is the idea of the yahoo group and Sabhstock is yours both serve the memory of a fanastic musician/performer,both need your support.

It all has fallen on Sarge's shoulders, but they're broad shoulders and he seems to be on top of it all, and has our heartfelt thanks for doing so, on a lighter note, if i am compereing this year, can i bring a cattle prod coz trying to organise musicians is like herding cats, they're like the balls in pinball machines!!!!

How about, the proceeds from SAHBstock III go to the Alex Memorial Fund - I know it's not a registered charity (at least, I don't think it is) but it is a cause dear to our hearts.
