Gary has his karma put back to zero again
Essexboy has had his account suspended for 10 days
These are two fellow newbies and yet for some reason one of them has been zeroed and the other suspended. This doesn't seem terribly fair to me. Am I to be blacklisted too for discussing the Corona lorry?
I'd personally like to have the moderator explain his actions before making a decision on whether to launch a campaign in Essexboy's defence. What rules has he broken?
Justice for the Essexboy One. Equality for Newbies. Freedom of speech for all.

We take most readily to any and all newbies, as I think is evident, in that, Gary had karma points awarded, for a change, by those who thought that minus karma was unfair. Clearly, then, the smiting was not by the hand of any of our regulars - perhaps it was a fellow newbie?
What I saw was the moderator restoring the equilibrium by putting Gary's karma UP to zero.
I don't believe the Corona lorry memories have anything to do with anything - do you? Really?
Essexboy has not been blacklisted - we have been advised that his account has been suspended for ten days. The very few rules that we have were then posted, with one aspect highlighted, I took that to mean that Essexboy had been abusive in his private messages or smiting.
I suggest that you either contact the moderator by private message or by email and take up your wish for a personal explanation of what happened.
This forum is unique in the levels of freedom that we enjoy, perhaps because we are all grown up and can be trusted to largely self govern
Crack on with your campaign with justice for Essexboy; all newbies are equal to us and each other; no real need on the freedom of speech front.
I hope this has been helpful - and, no, I am not one of the moderators.

Having revived my expertise through homework we could fill in the blanks. Bonjour, Je m'apelle ............... . J'habite a .............. un petit village pres de ................ . J'ai ......... ans. Je prefere le rock music et j'aime le SAHB. You'll notice there was no blank for the band name. Feel free to add anything else. I've exhausted my vocabulary. - and for Essexboy don't worry. I see things like rules and suspensions, lables that say unbreakable as a challenge rather than warnings.

Sort of introduced myself on another thread but this seems to be the official introducing point. I'm from Belfast and got into SAHB when I was really young, about 10 or 11. Delilah was the starting point and I had all the albums by early teens. SAHB didn't make the transition from vinyl to CD apart from a couple of compilations. A friend lent me the BBC album and it has totally reawakened my interest - BIG TIME.
Totally love music and have a really wide taste, indeed it expands the older I get (much like my girth - must do something about that). Big football fan too. Arsenal fan (travelling to the Blackburn game on Sunday) and also a Glentoran (Belfast team) season ticket holder.
There are also rumours that I enjoy the occasional alcoholic beverage!!
Glad to meet you all.

My family is made up of Halleys, Geehans, Nugent and O'Briens from Waterford and Tipperary counties many years ago. I know a guy who plays Irish football - Paul Munster. Heard of him? Almost became an Arsenal fan myself - I'm Canadian so its hockey for me but though I would follow a bit of football, but eventually settled on Sunderland because I don't like the easy road! Shhhh! Don't let anyone know you drink alcohol, all tea drinkers here! (...now where the heck did I put down my Guinness!)

Paul Munster plays for Linfield, Glentoran's biggest rivals. Very impressed with him last season. Has had a bit of a slow start this one. Good player tho'.

Welcome onboard snapper, you don't have pics from the Party Boys gig in the old Cathouse in Glasgow on the 3rd Jan '93 by any chance? I'm looking at the negs just now.Can only make out John Martyn (RIP) The Party Boys,Stevie ,Zal,Chris,Ted and Ronnie. There's a couple of nice shots of Dan and Zal screaming down the mic and another of Dan and,I think,Pete.Looks as if Pete was wearing a woolen bunnett. The band I was in at the time was support that night. John Martyn, Dan McCafferty & Pete Agnew where there too! I can't see any other negs I can't recognise, sorry. What was the name of your band? BTW this was the night I was christened snapper,by my big hero John Martyn. He also called me a cnut that night, but snapper seems more appropriate.
